The Dark class war frigate is a ship available from shipyards on the Obsidian Ocean. As with other Dark class ships, its construction requires a design available only from trading posts.

Dark class ships have one of the following adjectives when delivered: Aphotic, Crepuscular, Ebon, Inky, Midnight, or Moonless.

A Dark class war frigate has seven scenes: the aft crow's nest, the captain's cabin, the fore crow's nest, the galley, the main crow's nest, the main deck, and the main hold.

A Dark class war frigate captain's cabin comes pre-painted with inky walls and trim, the galley comes pre-painted with black trim, and the main hold comes pre-painted with black sideboard and trim.
