History

The name "Wensleydale" refers to the region in North Yorkshire, England with the same name, containing a dairy^[1] and also a breed of sheep^[2].

On the northwestern peninsula, on the western tip of the rock wall right above the sleeping turtle, an inscription can be found reading, "This island were fashioned by Yngvild.".

Along with Descartes Isle, Greenwich Island, and Lincoln Island, Wensleydale was one of the original four colonized Sage islands.
