A palace is a building placed on a colonized island. It allows the governor to manage the island and its taxes. All tax revenue from shoppes on the island deposit in the palace's coffers. Note that palaces are exempt from paying additional island taxes.

Use

The palace is used by the governor to manage island business. Historically, the island's navy was also controlled from here. Palaces feature a tournament board for swordfighting and drinking tournaments, and it is the location of certain missions. Some palaces have tap rooms with additional drinking tables. Pirates may sit for a portrait using the easel which can always be found inside palaces, in the first room to the right. An island cannot function without a palace or fort.

Construction

The palace is built by upgrading the fort. A palace requires both an estate agent and a commodities market. A palace takes up a 6x7 space.
