Consistency with other item types
The sword data is really much more spread out than, say clothing or furniture--but there aren't any sub categories to break down the table and move it off of the main page, so here's the whole shebang. Decay rate data to be added after verification (see Sandbox:Decay and User:Guppymomma/decaytest)
Perhaps putting the table on the right, flush to the top (as on the ship pages), would make it not feel quite so obnoxiously long. Or just split it into two columns--much shorter and no white-space, but no natural reason for the division. --Odiferous 15:36, 9 December 2005 (PST)
- I recommend making two or three columns. Also, we're a bit fanatical about putting things in alphabetical order. --Barrister 15:51, 9 December 2005 (PST)
- I think I like this better, too. This would also allow the removing of the "Sword Restrictions" section, which could be replaced with "On subscription oceans, some swords can only be used by subscribers (marked Subscribers only below)." --Odiferous 13:09, 13 December 2005 (PST)

Colors
We should note the restricted color sets from which you can order swords. I don't know them off the top of my head, or I'd do it myself. --AtteSmythe 09:39, 19 June 2006 (PDT)
- Ah, found it under enamels. Mea cupla --AtteSmythe 09:48, 19 June 2006 (PDT)
What sword shoud I get?
My tactic is to form swords where possible, but I will use sprinkles if I get a breaker, what sword should I get? I'm saving up for officer badge, so something cheap preferably.-Micool2
Adding reference to real life swords
I was thinking of making some adds to the swords section in making some references to real life usage of each kind of sword. I decided to ask first for, allthough I have a nice knowledge about it, I would still have some research to do so as to have reference pages, and I wouldn't like to spend my time and receive a complain about it being not encyclopaedic or such a thing. I would do it in each sword page individually, like it's done in some of the ships. So, I'm asking before initiating the project. If anyone think this is a good or bad idea, say it. If no one manifestate by a while, I'll start it assuming no one is against it. Onishiroi Shonin 12:51, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- It could be a reasonable addition to the YPPedia, as long as it wasn't too extensive. The focus is on ingame content and the game's history and community, after all. However, as you say, we do have a few blurbs related to real-life context on the ship pages. I would suggest that you add any real-life notes to each individual sword page at the bottom, under a headed "Real Life Relation" section, as on the ship pages. Thanks for asking for community input on your idea. :) --Featherfin 14:05, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
