History
Chachapoya Island was originally located on the Hunter Ocean. On the southeastern rock ridge, an Egyptian Eye tile reads: "This island were fashioned by Emerson."
Along with Quetzal Island, Chachapoya was one of the two original colonized Hunter islands.
The original buildings were named by Thespian of the Midnight Ocean. The naming scheme is an amalgamation of Mesoamerican/Mesika cultures (Incas, Mayans, etc) and jungle references (Tarzan, jungle cats). The name "Chachapoya" refers to a people living in present-day Peru who were conquered by the Inca. In reference to Orion, Chachapoya sits in the place of Gamma Orionis (γ Ori), also called Bellatrix.
