From YPPedia

How do get my page updated status updated.

I often work on the page Wyvern's pride. Although, the status of updates says it has not been updated since Febuary which is not true.

You have to actually change the dates used in the infobox on that page. The fields are:
|updateday= 6
|updatemonth= 2
|updateyear= 2006
Change those to the appropriate day, though you'll want to make sure that the rest of the information in the box is accurate. The update day refers to the box, not to the rest of the page. --AtteSmythe 14:09, 2 June 2006 (PDT)

Thank you.

Direct linking to info pages

Is it true that we're not supposed to link directly to pirate, crew, or flag info pages? (A la this. --Emufarmers 09:51, 3 June 2006 (PDT)

It's second-hand, but see the discussion on my talk page (look for the preformatted box) --AtteSmythe 10:36, 3 June 2006 (PDT)
Correct. The Ringers asked us not to do that. Same for individual portraits. --Barrister 00:34, 4 June 2006 (PDT)

GameGardens articles?

I realize that the YPPedia is for Puzzle Pirates related articles, which is why I'm asking before even starting to write the article I have in mind. I'm planning to propose a GameGarden game for consideration as a puzzle to be added to YPP. Would a tutorial on how to use the game be appropriate here? If the answer is "nay" then I'll just make a webpage for it.--Tcarr 15:14, 4 June 2006 (PDT)

I think it would be nice to have it here. Probably if you use an appropriate category like uhm "Game Gardens tutorials" that would help set it off from normaly YPP stuff. --Guppymomma 15:44, 4 June 2006 (PDT)

??

After being banned, will my clothes i ordered at a tailor still be there when i become un-banned?

If you become unbanned before the clothes turn abandoned. When they become that, the stall owner may take them. They become abandoned 30 days after completion. --Kinocha 18:14, 5 June 2006 (PDT)

Greenie Barnstar

Could someone (possibly Guppy) take Guppymomma's barnstar (Image:Barnstar.png) and turn it green in some fashion (keeping it cute, of course), so that we could have a barnstar for high-performing new editors (particularly relative unknowns)? Must have more...Barnstars... --Emufarmers 21:45, 6 June 2006 (PDT)

Heee. All I can think of is a nauseated star when I imagine it. I'll give it a whirl after work tomorrow if nobody's made something by then, but I bet some of the creative imagey wiki folks could really have some fun with this. --Guppymomma 22:44, 6 June 2006 (PDT)
Yeah, that thought crossed my mind, too; we probably don't want it to be "barnstar-seasick" (we add that later, muahaha!). You could add a label to it which says "greenie" or something like that instead. (Something more subtle might be replacing the eyepatch and pegleg with regular puzzle pirate limbs, as an allusion to a lack of injuries.) --Emufarmers 23:27, 6 June 2006 (PDT)
*Pokey.* Still need this, if anybody can provide it. --Emufarmers 14:08, 10 June 2006 (PDT)
Just incase anyone is going to try to create this (like me), It's already been done. --Angelbeaver 20:07, 7 July 2006 (PDT)

Flag Posting

I need to make a brand new post of a new flag and for the life of me I just can't put together exactly how to do it. I know I will have to use a combo of templates but I don't grasp the mechanics of how to get it started... Please help me soon. I have been put in charge of keeping our crew and flag info updated, so I need to get this done like YESTERDAY. Thanks in advance...--Buddha 05:42, 8 June 2006 (PDT)

First of all, welcome. :) The easiest way to get started is to click on the red link Adventure Today. Into that empty page, paste the template from Template_talk:Infobox_flag. The template will automatically categorize your flag's page under Sage Ocean flags, so all you need to do is fill in the information and add a history of your flag. Don't forget that you can use the preview button to check your work as you go. If you have trouble with the template, you can edit existing flag pages to see how they've structured the code. Hope that helps! --Zava 06:07, 8 June 2006 (PDT)
Another way to make an article, if no link is written yet, is to use the search box, believe it or not! When you put "Adventure Today" into the box and hit go, the resultant page, at the top, will say something like "There is no page with this exact title available." The red link on that page is an edit link to create the new page. --AtteSmythe 09:49, 8 June 2006 (PDT)

create crews

how do you create crews?

Hoya; take a look at the article on crews. :) --Emufarmers 20:40, 13 June 2006 (PDT)

updating crew pages

is there a way to get a crew at a glance box? if so i would like to know.

Yes, and it's all explained at template:infobox crew :) --Ponytailguy 09:28, 16 June 2006 (PDT)

Another Barnstar Request

Me again: Could somebody make a barnstar for bulk edits/uploads? (Call it the repetitive wrist motion award, if you want.) I'm looking at things like Featherfin's adding the cat notice to all the category pages, or Guppy's doing the transparencies on all those images, for example. --Emufarmers 14:06, 17 June 2006 (PDT)

It's the obvious gag. [1]. If you no likely, kick me and I'll think up something else. :) --Zava 14:57, 17 June 2006 (PDT)

how do I get a suspened account back

ive bean suspened for two day its over how do i get my acount back?????

You should be able to try and login, and the game will ask you to enter a sentance in order to restore your account. See Ban for more info. --Sagacious (talk) 13:11, 18 June 2006 (PDT)

Making footnotes

I'm trying to add footnotes to the BoNB game table, but I'm having trouble. In certain cells, I want numbers in superscript, which when clicked on, go down to numbered anchors in the footnotes section (back with a link up again, of course), so I can explain a few things while still keeping the table as minimal as possible.

I've tried to mimic the <ref> tags like on Wikipedia, but to no avail. Could anyone help me with this? --Pip(t|c|p) 18:05, 18 June 2006 (PDT)

Rather than try and reference them accurately to the line, you could just label them 1 or 2, linking those numbers all to Booty_or_No_Booty#Footnotes. As long as the list isn't terribly long - that might be an adequate solution. --Sagacious (talk) 18:14, 18 June 2006 (PDT)
We don't have that uh mod or whatever installed here. There is no easy nonmanual number & superscripting method of having a clickable link that goes to a list of references. The only autonumbered direct link method we do have is Template:Fn, but that goes to links and not to the reference section. I guess you could just make it a link to the reference section target each time, but you'd have to manually correctly number everything in the reference section to make them match up. --Guppymomma 19:52, 18 June 2006 (PDT)

missing clothing

a roommate at my house was banned from the game for reasons unknown to me. that player removed all contents from my house witch were returned to me less the clothing from my wardrobe. is there any way it can be recovered. this happened on june 18 2006 at about 12:40 pm cst.

If you've already contacted an Oceanmaster and they haven't returned it, it isn't getting returned. --Ponytailguy 13:39, 19 June 2006 (PDT)
Check your booty to see if you already have it. If the roommate merely took the warddrobe without removing each item of clothing first, then the clothing will have automatically gone into the booty of whoever placed it in the wardrobe most recently. --Tcarr 19:08, 19 June 2006 (PDT)

Wiki subtemplates

I picked back up my blockade project (since I'm now free from RL duties for a bit). However, I had to delve straight back in at the deep end with subtemplates.

After reading here the information another wiki admin gave to me, I've tried to replicate it.

In the Template:Infobox flagblockadef template (which provides an outline of a flag's second or third or fourth blockade (depending on what I declared it as in the template itself). The final parameter is {{result}}, and I'm trying to use the subtemplate on this.

Essentially, I want to be able to change a string of a few letters (rpdl - for result of precolonized defense: a loss) to change into a phrase (Lost precolonized).

So, if I use a subtemplate such as the one at Template:Blockadesub, I should be able to concatenate (hopefully using the right jargon here) a larger string out of a shorter string - turning rpdl into Infobox flagblockadef/rpdl, which can then be put into {{ }} to make Template:Infobox flagblockadef/rpdl and then make that the result parameter.

However, it doesn't seem to work. Can someone help me with this? The logic of it has had me stumped for a good while now. --Pip(t|c|p) 14:53, 22 June 2006 (PDT)

Is there a way i can get a pirate that i deleted back? If there is please let me know as soon a possible... thank you

If you send a petition shortly after deletion (click Ye, Help, Petition), an OM will be able to give you a definate answer on that. Make sure you include the name of the deleted pirate, and good luck :) --Zava 09:28, 26 June 2006 (PDT)

Art namespace

What is it for and what articles/content go there? Is there info about it someplace I missed? Gail 04:06, 28 June 2006 (PDT)

It's mainly used for creative contest articles—things that start in The Mariner's Muse. Sometimes the articles merely archive the winners (as in the case of Art:Pillaging Picasso, but sometimes they are actually used to track the contest's progress or for contestants to use during the contest (as in the case of Art:Poetry Death Match. --Yaten talk 06:45, 28 June 2006 (PDT)
http://yppedia.puzzlepirates.com/index.php?title=Special%3AAllpages&from=&namespace=102 will give you a list of what all is in it. --Guppymomma 06:57, 28 June 2006 (PDT)

missing cloths and money when i loged on

i left for vacation for 1 week and i loged back in with begeining pirate cloths idk what happend.i also had sold a pair of boots for 2k poe i came back it was missing alos wat happen?

This type of issue should be dealt with by an OceanMaster. Contact an oceanmaster explaining the problem using a Petition - which you can send while you are logged into the game. I'm afraid we can't help with missing items or in-game problems here. --Sagacious (talk) 18:10, 28 June 2006 (PDT)
Make sure you logged into the same ocean as you did originally. There are 5 oceans available from the login screen: Cobalt, Hunter, Midnight, Sage, and Viridian. --Barrister 18:17, 28 June 2006 (PDT)

Image Barnstar

How about a barnstar for artistic contributions to the wiki (be they the little icons for stubs, or the making of barnstars!)? --Emufarmers 21:35, 28 June 2006 (PDT)

I had a bash, I didn't know which one was better, so have a look at Image:Art_Barnstar_one.png and Image:Art_Barnstar_two.png (I don't know how to link them without just showing them :S --Angelbeaver 12:01, 5 July 2006 (PDT)
Yay. ^_^ I went ahead and added both of them to the barnstar page. You can link to an image without having it display by putting a colon in front of the image path in the link (the same trick works for linking to categories as well). --Emufarmers 22:19, 5 July 2006 (PDT)

to sell a house that isnt yours

I live on wensleydale in satanna's cottage. I now live there alone because she hasnt been on since may 11 of this year. I want to sell it, but i cant because i dont own it. Can you please send her an email asking if she will ever log on again?

                                                                    Thank you
                                                                          Robmaster

We as a community do not know how to contact individual people. The OceanMasters will not do this either. --Piplicus 09:46, 29 June 2006 (PDT)

You can try to see if you can find her Forum account, and her email -might- be there. Technically it's not yours to sell. --Sagacious (talk) 09:49, 29 June 2006 (PDT)
