re: Atlantis Run

Thanks for the heads up. I did that template late last night and was so tired I figured I would be cleaning up a few things today. I removed the size restriction on the ship. No idea why I put it there in the first place really. I also added an easy to use copy/paste form in the template usage notes that people can just copy and paste into the page and details on how to use the template on each ocean's page. Thanks for the help. Feel free to jump in and fix those kind of silly slip ups from me anytime! :) -- Muffynz(t/c) 23:47, 15 September 2007 (PDT)

Pirate Page

Hey man, could you add a table of contents to my pirate page? I can't find out how despite looking at many other pages. I also would like to know how you add rank icons such as a captain icon or something. Thanks mate. Assasin4 05:29, 21 September 2007 (PDT)

Hey mate, thanks for showing me how to force the TOC to show. :) Assasin4 04:47, 24 September 2007 (PDT)

Reverted my edit?

Ahoy. I just noticed that you reverted my edit of {{Atlantis run}} (Usage). I was just wondering why. The only thing I did was fix a grammatical error and make the HTML syntax correct. -- Thefirstdude (t/c) 15:09, 22 September 2007 (PDT)

I'll give you the grammatical error, and as such, I have gone back and fixed it again. As for the HTML syntax, I find it odd that you bring this up as an issue since there are hundreds of pages that contain the <br> syntax as opposed to the <br /> syntax, that is actually XHTML syntax. Are you recommending that we go through and edit every page that contains this syntax? Why change what we are doing everywhere else on the Yppedia? -- Cedarwings (t/c) 15:32, 22 September 2007 (PDT)
Yes, it is XHTML syntax, and XHTML has replaced HTML as the de facto web-page language standard. No, I do not think all pre-existing pages should be altered to be consistent with this change in standards. I think that newly created pages should, though. The "we shouldn't change page A because pages X, Y, and Z do it" argument is a very bad one that I simply will never, ever agree with, in any context. -- Thefirstdude (t/c) 17:03, 22 September 2007 (PDT)

Yellow BK trinket

Your PM to me about Yellow BK Trinkets makes no sense what-so-ever. By that same logic that there "could" be a yellow trinket you should place every other color template there as well. Last I checked in order for something to be present on the Yypedia, such as with trophies, it has to be in exsistance. BK Trinkets only currently come in 6 colors. I see no point confusing people with a Yellow that does not exist until, it does.-- EverclearBoy

Proposed deletions

Fair enough. I did check that the pirates I marked did not exist and had nothing in the "what links here" page, but sure, I can totally buy your reasons for opposal.--Vurogj 05:17, 8 October 2007 (PDT)

Barque at the Moon

Ahoy! You have now changed the way that I have been formatting the Barque at the Moon owners / managers. I understand why you would like to have it the way you are putting it; however, I was asked to make this page by both Cire and Sprngweather. I specifically asked them how they wanted that displayed, and they said that they wanted to be joint owners with none of the managers listed. Please, let me keep it the way they want it to be. --Yummyyumm 12:39, 30 October 2007 (PDT)

So, you propose we change Quid Pro Clothes to display the same way? With just one owner and a bunch of managers (including alts)? --Yummyyumm 14:26, 30 October 2007 (PDT)
Yeah, sounds good to me. Just because one shop is listed incorrectly doesn't mean others should follow the same pattern. --Fiddler 14:48, 30 October 2007 (PDT)
But if the goal is to get this information to be accurate, isn't it less accurate to show things the way they are shown in game, yet completely different from how they are run? Wouldn't it make more sense to display to a user that these are the two people you should contact if you need help, not just Sprngweather and some managers (most of which are alts)? --Yummyyumm 15:11, 30 October 2007 (PDT)

Edit Frequency

Ahoy! Thank you for the warning. I'll try to follow your suggestions and, also, use more the checkbox for minor changes when due.

pages i keep screwing up

I'm sorry I keep screwing up the pages I make. I don't know things like the fact that the rent prices change and that I shouldn't include things like who owns a shack. but putting a rough estimate of how many stall owners there typically are shouldn't be a problem, should it? I buy stuff from these stalls, I notice when new ones are added or old ones are taken away, so the rough estimate is based on my observations. let me know if I screw any more pages up. since I'm new to making these pages, I think I'm entitled to a few screwups without being reprimanded too severely.

Archive of Talk Page

You have offered to archive my talk page.. a couple days back, decided I would take ye up on that offer, no rush. -- Matt121493(t/c)

caps

as i explained to someone else, i was using caps to show how the name is pronounced. when they told me it was ok, i started changing it back when i saw it changed. i don't remember who it was who told me this, and i have deleted that message, so i don't know who it was. but they said that as long as the article name wasn't changed, the capitalization in the article itself didn't matter. i'm sorry that i was given incorrect information, please do not punish me for it when i was told it was ok. thank you.

portrait image

ok, i've asked several people, WHERE do i put the portrait image tag? no one has been too clear on that.

EllieNeo (talk • contribs)

oh ok

sorry, i was confused. i didn't see the capitalization typo in the article. thanks for clarifying. EllieNeo (talk • contribs)

Longship edit

I was wondering why you reverted the longship picture to the original one? Is there a way in PSPro to have it save as a transparent background? When I was editing it, it was on the clear checkered board and was saved as a layer not a composite

Thankee

Thanks for checking that Echiwhatsitpage. I'm rusty! Have a good evening. :) --Zava 20:56, 19 November 2007 (PST)

Scervy Edit

Hoy, I know that rophies are not permitted on yppedia pages, but these are not trophies and cannot otherwsie be shown on a pirate page by clicking on the home ocean lind. Since they are "Imaginary trophies" (Imaginary Trophies) it is a different case. -Dougerarg

Watership Down image

I was wondering why you reverted my image for Watership Down. I was just trying to add a little fun and color to the page with the image and the accompanying story. Saintevermor 05:21, 10 December 2007 (PST)

So I should delete the story then as well? Saintevermor 05:45, 10 December 2007 (PST)

Yeah, as warm and fuzzy as it is, the skellies were not actually defeated by Lightbringer's pure essence alone. Thanks for the heads up. Saintevermor 06:18, 10 December 2007 (PST)

Sea Monster Hunt

Hey Amoyer, do you think you can take a look at my newly made page Sea Monster Hunt? I need to know what should be changed, Thanks! -Bowler20 (Manyskill on the Hunter/Viridian) -09:17 PSt December 31,2007

Trophies

Sorry, I do realize that it is against the policy to add trophies onto my pirate page, and I will not add them back in again. However, I would greatly appreciate it if there was a way to note that I won a Bone Lute, Reindeer Feed, and any other awards I win in future competitions, only because such things had been given as trinkets in the past and trinkets are allowed. Is there any way to do this under the policy? Thank you. --Karajean 01:36, 6 January 2008 (PST)

thanks

firstly i wanted ter thank you for this tipp with the trophys. secondly i wanted to ask if i can let the trinkets on the page. Yours --Fetaboy 12:31, 8 January 2008 (PST)

Re: Dealing with new users

Sorry for the belated response, but when you posted about my dealing with a new user, you were probably not aware that we were in contact with each other through the period in which I edited his articles. I sent him a message pointing out the errors, and he apologised and said he would try to fix them. I also told him to slow down, so I could fit in an edit to correct most typos and formatting errors. Then I said he could proceed with his edits.

Tips

Thanks for the tips on the pages ;)

Dead End Pages

Ok, thanks for the tips! I figured I'd be running into trouble with this at some point. I'll be sure to give the links a closer look in the future. --Karajean 19:33, 2 February 2008 (PST)

I know I just posted the above message a few minutes ago, but I just noticed that a page I added links to earlier had been put back onto the Dead-end pages list. The page is Conference of Monarchs:Hypnos' Hunter notes . Would you like me to not put links onto the "Conference of Monarchs" pages, since they are OM notes?--Karajean 20:05, 2 February 2008 (PST)
That makes sense now. You learn something new everyday, ha. Thanks again!--Karajean 21:52, 2 February 2008 (PST)

Questionable Edits for Dead End Pages

I know I've already done a couple, but I'm going to ask before I go any farther. Is it ok to add in links on the event pages, since there's so many of them that are dead ends? How about the individual Current blockades pages, GCPP, and Rogue OM Squad pages? I'm just asking because there are so many and they remind me of the Hypnos's Conference of Monarchs pages, and since dead ends worth editing are usually things like trinket pages, or pirate, crew, and flag pages that need cleaned up. Plus, editnig a bunch of these pages would mean just simply putting in links to a huge bunch of pirate names. --Karajean 02:33, 16 February 2008 (PST)

French Trophy page

Ahoy, I just read your message about my french trophy page, and I understand that you deleted it. You said all the articles must be written in english until the Three Rings create a french version ; if ever you got a such project, I would be pleasured to translate some yppedia pages, and even in-game pictures, text... -- Clenito - 20 February 2008

pirate pic

i've seen other pages with scenes from the game in them, what's the problem with me posting it? i don't want to use it anywhere else, i'm not trying to use yppedia as a "webserver to post photos" of my pirates on. i just wanted to have it on my page. please explain to me why i cannot. JennaLeo 10:17, 22 February 2008 (PST)

Dusted template

I must have not noticed the dusted template. I'm personally a proponent of keeping stuff simple, and having dusted and regular buildings under the same template, if possible (same with crews/flags, personally). I'll leave the template as-is for now, since it is not affecting anything. Though where should we have the discussion for this one? --Thunderbird 14:40, 22 February 2008 (PST)

Just a note that the template modification I was working on is still in the sandbox...I think I'll start fixing that now ;). --Thunderbird 00:29, 27 February 2008 (PST)

Thanks for mopping up a couple of mistakes for me. I figured I'd mess something up in all that disambiguation process. -- Haywoodx(t/c) 22:40, 22 February 2008 (PST)
