Anberline's pirate article deletion

The entire contents of the article was "hello." Please feel free to add to the discussion on limiting temporary notability articles to well written ones.--Fiddler 14:22, 7 October 2005 (PDT)

Ah, in that case I probably would have tossed it as well. --Thunderbird 14:23, 7 October 2005 (PDT)
Just a minor note that you can view deleted edits by doing a search for the article, then you can click on the create an article with this name or whatever link that is. At the top of the page you should see a link above the create a new article stuff, it'll say X deleted edits as a link. --Guppymomma 21:35, 7 October 2005 (PDT)

I need to get there!!!

Hi!

I really need to discover some islands, so if you can whisk me there just to get it on my map it would be great!

Thanks! XXnicolasXX & missmoodymac on sage ocean.

We need a secret handshake

For our lunatic decay testing club :) Thanks for doing an interarch. I'm feeling rather confused about the number of days the intraarch map is staying good. Perhaps in the end it will make sense. --Guppymomma 16:54, 11 December 2005 (PST)

Decay testing

Just FYI, I made an adjustment to the columns so it's easier to know which one you're updating. --Guppymomma 09:49, 19 December 2005 (PST)

Animal revert

Meh, didn't even bother to test it with the search box. Thanks for the heads-up! – Yaten talk 21:27, 29 December 2005 (PST)

To Do

I have absolutely nothing to do at the moment. Is there anything I can do to help out? --Pevarnj 14:52, 8 January 2006 (PST)

Thanks

Thanks for fixing that cleanup tag w/o a template that I booched last night. I totally shouldn't edit while sleep-deprived. --Gloraelin 22:41, 15 January 2006 (PST)

Ocean specific pages

Sorry - How do you make pages ocean specific? The answer seems to have been deleted away very rapidly, so I can't learn by doing it myself. :p --Zava 17:40, 8 March 2006 (PST)

Sorry that was probably my fault. Pages that need to be made ocean specific can be moved to a new page with the ocean tag on the end e.g. Delusions of Grandeur was moved to Delusions of Grandeur (Sage) as there is a Cobalt crew of the same name. --Sagacious 17:43, 8 March 2006 (PST)

Question about Article change.

Thunderbird -

I have a question for you. My old crew information for Roberts Revenge was all fine and ok I thought, but it was recently modified by a captain in my old crew (Ozzimendo). I left the crew to form my own crew based on having fun and not be so politically overbearing (which my old crew was). Ozzimendo just chatted in the game with my wife and said that it was offensive to him so he edited the page to remove that sentence.

My question - AFAIK my sentence did not mention his old crew (which is defunct BTW) and was a general statement on why I founded my crew.

So this 'censorship' by Ozzimendo (and then him bragging about it in the game to my wife) kinda offends me. I'm not going to change the article back but thought I'd mention it to you and see what your thoughts are on this.

Thanks.

Post

The YPPedia is an encyclopedic work. It is not a directory of pirates across the oceans. That said, there are some pirates noteworthy enough to be included in the YPPedia. Monarchs, governors, captains, island designers, and winners of familiar contests all fall into this category. Other pirate entries can be included, but an explanation of why that pirate is notable must be included as part of the article. Administrators and the community will watch to make sure this guideline is adhered to. If your pirate does not meet these guidelines, please use your user page instead of creating a new article.

That article about Williamiv has no "explanation of why that pirate is notable must be included as part of the article" and therefore should be deleted. There isn't much more too it than that.

Edit: I am having some trouble figuring this stuff out, but would you please define user page for me? Does that mean what he has? Meaning ANY pirate can have one? I guess I don't understand why it would say no pages for every pirate and then allow them.

Thanks

War decs

I generally list war declarations and alliance proposals in flag infoboxes. In the case of Broadsiders, the war dec will probably be gone in 3 days, so it's not a big deal. --Barrister 00:24, 25 March 2006 (PST)

Map of Viridian.

Hey Thunderbird,

I'm editing my user page and I like what you've done with the Viridian memorization map. How did you produce a map like that? I'd like to add one to my user profile if possible.

thanks!

~Valien

Revenge

Looks like you blanked Revenge. Was that intentional? --Barrister 15:01, 11 April 2006 (PDT)

I wasn't the one who blanked it, I rolled it back to a revision with an infobox that needed a fix, then fixed it. --Thunderbird 15:03, 11 April 2006 (PDT)
Yep. I just figured that out. Whoops. --Barrister 15:03, 11 April 2006 (PDT)

Sorry :]

Oh, I apologize I didn't know. I reported it the way you requested though.

Thank you.

Re: Official:AboutGame

Not to be a nag, but I thought the player Admins weren't supposed to touch the Official namespace? I brought up minor edits before, and the consensus seemed to pretty clearly be that no edits were allowed period (I had actually pointed to the page you just fixed as an exampe, ironically, as well as a page where you'd previously stated such minor edits would be ok). I don't think you're going to be yelled at for fixing a broken link, but it seems like you're out of step with the other Admins on this, so I thought I'd bring it up before you get in trouble. :/ --Emufarmers 16:40, 8 May 2006 (PDT)

I need to ask you about some code

I'm working on my avatar maker, and I had a couple requests for things that need me to change colours on the fly. I'm not sure if you've done much of this; I know Quid Pro Clothes does a bit of it, but I don't know what you had to do with coding that initially. I've been hitting Google, but it seems that if it's possible, then what I'm searching for isn't the terms php coders use to refer to it (I've tried some stuff with colorset, but it's not aliasing well). Anyways, if you can hunt me down, I'd appreciate it.--Thespian 17:45, 15 May 2006 (PDT)

Re-Re-Re-colored

I rolled back your edit on the Midnight familiars page, because you duplicated the information Pip added earlier. I couldn't tell if you meant to simply change the order, and forgot to remove Pip's edit, so I thought I'd drop a note. Love and bubbles, --AtteSmythe 12:18, 8 June 2006 (PDT)

Infobox building

You rock! --Barrister 22:12, 30 June 2006 (PDT)

I like it and will be re-editing all my completed island building pages and further pages on my list with the new template. Very nice job. --Muffynz 18:53, 3 July 2006 (PDT)

new categories

When creating the building subcategories, you should use category sorting like I did for Hunter and Cobalt. Otherwise, everything will show up under V for Viridian. --Barrister 13:24, 2 July 2006 (PDT)

Current Events

I re-edited your edit to my Plundered Poems event entry. It is a Golden Ticket event, Piplicus just hadn't added it to his wiki list yet. It is there now :-) -- --BlackBeth 20:21, 3 July 2006 (PDT)

Building Pictures

Ahoy there! As you may or may not know, I'm currently in the process of updating every building page on Midnight slowly and surely. You can see my progress here if you'd like. I love your new template for the buildings that includes a picture in the infobox. Definitely a good idea. Just one or two questions really quickly.

  • 1. Is the picture automatically sized to the width of the info box or does it need to be manually entered.
  • 2. For older pictures that don't conform to the (ocean)(island)(shoppe name).png naming scheme, is there a way around the automatic file naming for the picture in the info box or would the existing picture need to be moved to the appropriate location. If yes, how does one do that as there is no move tab on pictures.

Thanks for the time! --Muffynz 00:07, 4 July 2006 (PDT)

Ok, so I am reformatting a lot of the pages I've already done to the new building template. Only problem is is that half of the uploaded pictures are saved as .png and half are saved as .PNG and the template is case sensitive. Anyway it can be made not case sensitive so I don't have to re-upload all the pictures? --Muffynz 11:51, 6 July 2006 (PDT)
I'm not Thunderbird, but I'm 99.999% sure the answer is no. I've been reuploading and marking the .PNG version with a {{propose deletion because|blahblah}} when needed. --AtteSmythe 11:54, 6 July 2006 (PDT)
Sorry, there's no way to do it. We had to pick one or the other, and the images were split nearly evenly betwen PNG and png. Also, feel free to mark the outdated images as {{d}}. --Barrister 11:59, 6 July 2006 (PDT)
Alrighty, thanks for the help.--Muffynz 12:00, 6 July 2006 (PDT)

Thunderbird/Sandbox

I didn't want to edit it myself, but would you mind removing the infoboxes from your Sandbox. They're being categorized. :-) --Barrister 21:52, 6 July 2006 (PDT)

newstandard

As you remove the "newstandard" tags, please add "piratestub" and/or "cleanup" where appropriate. Thanks! --Barrister 23:01, 13 July 2006 (PDT)

Carpentry combo counter

The carpentry combo counter does not reset after all the stars are filled. I have gone on with combo's numerous times after I filled the stars. Or I am really going crazy

Re: Disambig Pages

Thanks for the help! Never had to set one of those up before but I figured Valhalla finally needed a page of her own. Will keep the specifics in mind for next time. --Muffynz 21:53, 28 July 2006 (PDT)

Removing User Page Links

You removed a link I added from a reference to one of my pirates to my user page. You said "No links to user pages". I don't see any rule to that effect in the policies and guidelines. Is this an official policy, and if so could you please refer me to where it's written?

--KeithIrwin 12:03, 8 August 2006 (PDT)

That's odd, I made sure to check before I left that message.--Fiddler 20:05, 27 August 2006 (PDT)

Explain how Easway is not written in third person for me, please. --Inschato 13:40, 4 September 2006 (PDT)

Yellow Pages Questions

I did not know that there had to be a External Forums link for a crew to be listed on the Yellow pages. I saw a few other crews listed there without Crew/Flag forum links. Does this mean that I should just remove a crew from the Yellow Pages if I discover that they no longer have a valid link to an external forum page of some kind? --Kgarrett1969 03:51, 16 May 2007 (PDT)

Dusted building template

Guppymomma had created {{Infobox building (dusted)}} (Usage) last November. Not sure whether we want to just move all of those articles using that template back to the {{Infobox building}} (Usage) template with the new parameter. -- Cedarwings (talk) 14:34, 22 February 2008 (PST)

I was changing some articles from the Infobox version Guppymomma had created back to the updated Infobox building and noticed that the new X Ocean dusted buildings category was not appearing. Did you miss something? -- Cedarwings (talk) 00:27, 27 February 2008 (PST)

Skellie footer/header protection

Ahoy. I'd like to ask for the Template:Skellie_footer to be unprotected. The reason at hand is that I want to move the included Category:Lists from Template:Activity_list to articles/templates including it, so pages like Skellies or Hearts don't end up in the Lists category. Additionally I don't think that this two templates really need protection. As there seems to be no formalized way to request unprotection (probably doesn't happen often enough), I just bug the admin who protected the templates. --Alfwyn 04:56, 23 February 2008 (PST)

I didn't intend to remove the Activity_list from the Skellie_footer. I rather want to remove the [[Category:Lists]] part from Activity_list and put it into Skellie_footer as <includeonly>[[Category:Lists]]</includeonly> (and a few other footers) so I don't have to put the Category into 5 ocean speficic pages per activity. --Alfwyn 09:25, 24 February 2008 (PST)

Regarding: Ocean Master

Thank you for your message, however I must point to you that after you reverted the page to the previous version, someone else added Hera back in as well as two other new Ocean Masters. Eepeng 01:29, 2 April 2008 (PDT)
