Brigand Kings (abbreviated BK) are special brigands found occasionally when players attack red- or orange-ringed ships. Brigand Kings cannot be distinguished from normal brigands before entering sea battle. Rather, the Brigand King makes an announcement at the start of the sea battle and the brigand ship will display the <Brigand King> flag on the battle navigation screen. During the melee the normal swordfight puzzle background is replaced with a special "Brigand King!" background. Once the battle ends the Brigand King's ship disappears immediately. Barbarian Kings behave exactly like Brigand Kings, except they display <Barbarian King> during sea battle, rumble during the melee, and use a "Barbarian King!" background.

Defeating a Brigand King provides a special trinket particular to that king. These trinkets can be held in portraits. The trinkets are inscribed with the message, "Ransomed by <Brigand King> to <Pirate> on <date>." Every experienced player1 aboard will receive the same type of trinket, but they may be different colors.

Atlantis league point
Maps to the Atlantean outposts are in the form of special charts, which can only be obtained from pillaging battles or defeating skellies and zombies, but can be traded between players as normal. They mark a route between an island and a unique league point, which are similiar to flotilla league point markers, except that they cannot be memorized. To chart an Atlantean course, the chart must be placed on the ship's navigation table. Charts are "locked" to the navigation table while a route is charted to the sea monster league point. Also, there is an Atlantean voyage configuration. Once the vessel safely reaches port, the charted course can be cleared and the chart can be reclaimed by any Officer.
Upon entering the sea battle board, a vessel will start in a safe zone to the top-right or bottom-left of the board.

The Cursed Isles are the demesne of Vargas the Mad and his crew of cultists and Enlightened followers.
It is a type of Sea Monster Lair, suited for smaller ships. Upon entering the lair the ship is placed on a sea battle board and faces with Vargas' crew, consisting of rafts, sinsister sloops and cursed cutters. Cursed Islanders on the rafts will try to board invading vessels, challenging players to rumble fights and hindering the station they work on. If an overwhelming number of Islanders have boarded the vessel, they will even begin a ship wide battle, in an attempt to seize control of the vessel. Another obstacle at reaching the cursed isle itself, at the far end of the board is the Fog of Chaos surrounding the isle, which has been known to have a debilitating effect on sailors aboard the ship.
The cursed isle surrounded by fog
But dodging these dangers and making it to the Island is only half the battle.
The true treasures of the Cursed Isles are stored in the middens the Islanders have accumulated around their realm. To seize these abandoned treasures, pirates must make their way to the Islander's village and fend off ferocious attacks. After each attack, the crew will have the opportunity to forage treasure from the abandoned middens. But beware, each successive attack by the Islanders will be stronger.
The crew will need to make a decision during their time on the Cursed Isles. Just before each successive attack, they will have to choose whether they should retire with their winnings or stay and face another Islander onslaught. It should be a tough decision! The Islanders will be sure to take as much of their treasure back as they can.
Among the treasure to be gained are clothes and furniture in the Cursed Isle-exclusive color, indigo. But other unique items like Enlightened Masks can be won too.

Treasure Haul is available in an Atlantean Outpost whenever a sunken ship leaves a wreck or a killed monster leaves a carcass. The puzzle is played as normal except for the addition of a 2x2 chest. If the chest piece is cleared to the top of the Treasure Haul board, a treasure chest, or locker, is transferred to the Booty and its contents will be distributed to the players during booty division.
The better pirates are at 'hauling', the faster the treasure will be brought aboard. Hauling while your vessel is directly on top of the wreck is more efficient than hauling from an adjacent position. The treasure currently consists of PoE, which is added to the ship's booty chest for division if the ship manages to leave the board and port.
To play, coins are moved up and down the board until they form 3's, 4's, and so on. The combos work exactly the same as bilging, where clearing coins forms new lines of 3 and 4 etc. which then clear themselves, repeating until there are no more lines.
Sometimes gems will appear in the puzzle. These consist of a red gem that clears all the puzzle pieces in the same row and column (cross pattern), and a green gem that clears all the puzzle pieces diagonally to the gem (X pattern). The gem effects can be chained by placing another gem into a gem's "clearing area".
