PoEmail
PoEmail was a newsletter periodically sent out for Three Rings by SubscriberMail. When signing up with an account to play Puzzle Pirates, players were automatically subscribed to PoEmail. As of June 2008, it has been "renamed" to The Spyglass,[1] which takes on a new format. Existing PoEmail subscribers were automatically added to the main Spyglass mailing list.
Previous PoEmails
The sixteenth edition of PoEmail was sent on February 9, 2008. The main feature was the release of Y!PP game cards. It also included a feature on new treasures appearing in Atlantis, Valentine's trinkets, Boxing and a gift of 1,000 PoE from Cleaver.
The seventeenth edition of PoEmail was sent March, 15, 2008. The main feature was the addition of the Xebec to the lineup of available ships. Also featured were mint, rose, & lavender cloth, the winners of the 2008 Easter egg design contest, and the opening of the new Y!PP store in partnership with PirateMod.com
The eighteenth edition of PoEmail was sent on June 4, 2008. The main feature was the opening of new ocean Malachite. Also featured were limited edition light green Mala-cats, Light green and Magenta cloth being added, a new portrait background being added and the winners of the A Sailor's Yarn contest.
Verification
All official editions of PoEmail carried the OOO footer. Emails were from PuzzlePirates@mail136.subscribermail.com. Links to free gifts such as PoE and items took readers to a website at http://www.puzzlepirates.com, which never asked for a password.

The first PoEmail was sent on May 26, 2006, and featured, along with links to rumble, the main page, the Stop Frame Animation Contest, the 5 Millionth Doubloon Givaway, and an offer for 1000 free Pieces of Eight.
The second PoEmail had two versions, and was sent on June 22, 2006. It featured links to refer a friend, furniture, several fan groups, the Pirates of the Caribbean Trailer Spoof contest, and information on the StARRter Kit, which Three Rings released at the same time.
The third PoEmail was sent on July 20, 2006. The main feature was the giveaway of 2 million mystery gifts, in celebration of the creation of the 2 millionth pirate. Other featured links included a 'Design an Ad' contest [2], winners for the PotC Spoof Video contest [3] and information on earning PoE with the Refer a friend system.
The fourth PoEmail was sent on August 24, 2006. It featured an offer for 1000 free Pieces of Eight in celebration of the release of pets. It also had links to the winners of the 'Design an Ad' contest [4], information on paying via PayPal, an announcement from Captain Cleaver [5], and the '30-second Commercial' contest [6].
The fifth PoEmail was sent near the end of October. It was colored differently than other PoEmails, in line with the 2006 Halloween events, which were the main feature of the newsletter. Also included were links to the 'Halloween Screenshot Competition', the new 'Release Post Mortem', the 'Design a Tee' competition, and the annual 'Pirate Census'.
The sixth PoEmail was sent on November 25, 2006. It featured a reward of 1000 free Pieces of Eight, as part of the booty plundered during the 2006 Halloween events. Also included were links to the new Y!PP Blog, refer a friend, the latest 'Release Post Mortem', and the 'Dead Letter Office' competition.
The seventh PoEmail was sent on December 23, 2006. It featured a reward of a free festive outfit consisting of a red Bearded Santa Hat, black Santa boots, as well as a random piece of old, red coloured torso and legs clothing. Also included were links to the 2006 Holiday events, news about the new German ocean Opal, and news from the captain.
The eighth PoEmail was sent on January 27, 2007. It featured a reward of 1000 PoE as a new year gift from captain Cleaver. Also included were links to the design a background contest, maneuvers, the Pirate's Code of Conduct, and a Valentine's day contest.
The ninth PoEmail was sent on February 24, 2007. The main feature was the announcement of the Puzzle Pirates iPod Lucky Draw. Also featured was the Design Easter Eggs contest, information on a new method to purchase doubloons via PaidByCash, Cephalopod's blog entry about the Bradford meetup and information on how to receive PoEmail in German.
The tenth PoEmail was sent on May 20, 2007. The main feature was about Brigand Kings, and their new reign of terror upon the oceans. It also featured a gift of 1000 PoE from captain Cleaver. Also included were links to the Puzzle Pirates iPod Lucky Draw, refer a friend, and round 2 of the Grand Crafting Puzzle Project.
The eleventh PoEmail was sent on June 16, 2007. The main feature was the latest release of Flotillas. It also featured the limited edition white Elephant, the latest winner in the Puzzle Pirates iPod Lucky Draw, warning on the Brigand Kings and their intent to attack islands, and a link to claim 1,000 PoE.
The twelfth PoEmail was sent on July 21, 2007. The main feature was the release of the Blacksmithing puzzle. It also contained a link to a questionnaire on recent additons to the game, a mystery gift from The Captain, Hypnos's trip to the Las Vegas pirate meetup, and a mysterious message.
The thirteenth PoEmail was sent on September 9, 2007. The main theme was the arrival of Atlantis, featuring new treasure, new maps, and Dragoons.
The fourteenth PoEmail was sent on October 25, 2007. The main feature was the 2007 Halloween events, which included Zombies and Skellies. Limited edition pets, seasonal furniture and the return of masks were also featured.
The fifteenth PoEmail was sent on December 25, 2007. The main theme was the 2007 Holiday events, which included an oceanwide team event, limited edition white tigers, seasonal hats, snow furniture and a section on the Puzzle Pirates iPod Lucky Draw.
Unsubscribing
You can unsubscribe from PoEmail via the link at the bottom of the PoEmail. However, be warned that after you unsubscribe you may not be able to resubscribe due to how the company hired to handle PoEmails works.[7]
