The /battle command, also known as sea battle chat, allows those players who are aboard ships participating or spectating on a sea battle board to chat to one another. /battle chat works across all skirmish types, including Atlantis, blockades and flotillas.
Previously, blockades and flotillas had their own separate chat commands. The /blockade and /flotilla chats were merged into one /battle chat with release 2026-03-24. The old command names still work, however.
Usage
/battle <message>
Additionally, the /battle-off command allows a player to turn off, or mute, battle chat (and also displays the message: "Battle Chat will now be muted."). The /battle-on command allows a player to turn on, or unmute, battle chat (and also displays the message: "Battle Chat will now be heard.")
Who can hear messages sent with this command
- Messages sent over the /battle channel are visible to all players currently on the sea battle board, regardless of which ship they are on, or their flag affiliation in a blockade.
- Concurrently running sea battles do not share sea battle chats. For example, players participating in Admiral Island's blockade will not see messages posted in Aimuari Island's blockade battle chat.
Historical notes
/blockade chat was added for use in blockades with release 2023-09-22. /blockade chat could be turned on using the /blockade-on command, and could be turned off using the /blockade-off command. A new /flotilla chat mode that worked similarly to /blockade chat mode was added with release 2025-07-01.
