A pirate hall is a special type of house for crews and flags. Pirate halls come in four sizes - in order of increasing size: modest, fine, stately and grandiose. All four sizes are contained within the same building. Only the captain of a crew or the monarch of a flag may purchase a pirate hall. A pirate who is both captain and monarch may purchase both types - one for the crew and one for the flag - but may only purchase one of the four sizes for each on a given island. A pirate hall purchased for a flag is named "<Flagname>'s <size> Flag Hall" while one purchased for a crew is named "<Crewname>'s <size> Crew Hall", but both types have identical internal layouts. As with housing of other types, no ongoing property tax needs to be paid for upkeep. Pirate halls, like houses, cannot be upgraded or downgraded to another size property.

Pirate halls do not have roommates in the usual sense. Instead, all crew or flag members may enter the hall at will. Jobbers do not have free entry, but anyone can knock to request access, so long as there is a pirate inside able to grant it. The captain and senior officers have roommate access rights in a crew hall -- including inviting pirates, accepting knocks at the door, changing the room news, painting rooms or arranging the furniture -- while the monarch and royalty may do the same in a flag hall.

Though they must be purchased by a captain or monarch, they do not belong to the pirate, but rather to the crew or flag -- the house tab of the sunshine widget lists the crew or flag as the building owner. If the captaincy of a crew or the monarchy of a flag changes, the pirate hall remains untouched. On the other hand, if a crew or flag disbands or merges with another, the pirate hall will disappear. All furniture inside will be returned to the respective owners, but all PoE in the coffers will simply vanish.
