In order to make the Booty or No Booty event run more smoothly, there are several rules and proceedures in place that should be adhered to by all spectators and participants.

Behaviour and Etiquette
By entering the BoNB house, you agree not to do the following things:
- Swear
- Spam
- Shout
- Job for a blockade
- Dockpress
- Harass people
- Walk onto the stage
- Attempt to hearty anyone and everyone
- Perform fake bidding (bid what you aren't willing to risk)
- Pester Nobooty in /tells repeatedly
- Disrupt the flow of the game significantly
- Be grossly disrespectful, or otherwise
- Act like an idiot
If you do break one of these rules, you can expect to be planked and barred from all episodes of Booty or No Booty forever.
Simply put - be nice.
Good grammar, politeness, a sense of humour and other acts of goodwill will be rewarded. What's more, it makes the place even nicer!
Before you ask, Booty or No Booty is meant to be fun. These strict measurements are just put in place to weed out people who can't be bothered to read the rules. They don't deserve to play.
Game Overview
Booty or No Booty is based off the popular TV show Deal or No Deal. To get your chance in the Hot Seat you must have a golden ticket in hand upon arriving. In the weeks and days (even minutes) before the actual event, golden tickets can be won in tournaments, events, and contests of skill, luck, and a whole lot o' fun. Once in the hot seat, pick a mystery box and you're off. Anything from a tan bandanas and hemp stacks to half a million poe and a coveted familiar could be yours.
With the pressure of huge prizes and obscene amounts of POE being thrown at you to the suspense of each pick of a box, will you hold on and and walk away a winner, or slink away clutching your fish skeleton...?
Welcome to...
Before the game
One hour before the game starts, an Oceanmaster or oceanmaster alt will send out a /broadcast across the ocean. This will typically point out when it is starting, what can be won, and a link to this page. On the more heavily-populated oceans, a location will NOT be given. To enter the event, you must come here (which you evidently already have done!), and go to one of the following locations:
- Midnight: Thousand Caves of Doriath, Islay of Luthien
- Cobalt: Estate of Intoxication, Kirin Island
- Viridian: Sin City, Olive Island
- Sage: The Great Estate, Admiral Island
- Hunter: Tortilla Villas, Chachapoya Island
The host of the event is Nobooty.
Remember though, the event doesn't start until an hour after the broadcast, and while you are in the house, you are bound to the above behaviour rules. You may want to head off and play poker, or even loan a poker table for the duration of the waiting period.
Between 5 and 15 minutes before the scheduled event time, a golden ticket may be give out. Nobooty won't be telling how or when, so please don't ask!
Golden ticket lottery
At the start of the show, Nobooty will ask for golden tickets. If you have a golden ticket to hand in, you may trade him and wait for him to get to you. Your golden ticket will only count if it has your name on it, or doesn't have anyone else's name on it. After five minutes, those who have submitted a ticket will be invited to the other side of the garden, where a number of boxes have been set up. One by one, each person who submitted one will get to pick a box and keep it. (A player can have one box for every ticket he submits). Once all the boxes have been given out, you may open it and check what is inside. The presents may contain one of the following things:

The winner will then be invited onto the stage. Everyone else is now a normal spectator and may bid and try to win a surPRIZE.
The Game
Once the contestant has been chosen the main, game begins!
The contestant comes out into the main area, introduces themselves and then picks one (1) box from a selection of 22. This will ALMOST always be the box won at the the end of the game except in case of a switcheroo(see switcheroo for technicalities).
No one not even Nobooty himself knows what is in each box but they randomly contain the following:

After picking their box the elimination of the other boxes (21 remaining) begins as follows:
Round 1
- Five (5) boxes are chosen and then eliminated along with their contents leaving 16 boxes
- A round of bidding occurs(see bidding for the process)
- The contestant chooses either Booty!, recieves the PoE bid for their box, and the box is now the property of the highest bidder.
- Or No Booty! and the game continues to round 2.
Round 2
- Three (3) boxes are chosen and then eliminated along with their contents leaving 14 boxes
- A round of bidding occurs(see bidding for the process)
- The contestant chooses Booty! or No Booty!
Rounds 3-6
- Three (3) boxes are chosen each and then eliminated along with their contents leaving 11, 8, 5, and 2 boxes in succesive rounds
- A round of bidding occurs after each round(see bidding for the process)
- The contestant chooses Booty! or No Booty! after each round
Bidding
After each round of box elimination there will be a chance for anyone to buy the current contestant's box. There are two parts to the bidding:
- Note: BIDS ARE IN PoE ONLY; DOUBLOONS, SHIPS, AND OTHER FORMS OF BARTERING TENDER WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
- False bids, bids that the person can't pay out, will be grounds for planking from the house and banishment from all future BoNB events.
Wave 1: The Guage Round
When Nobooty announces so, send him your bid in a /tell of the amount you are willing to pay for the contestant's box. After about 30 seconds time is up and Nobooty will announce the highest bid from the round.
Wave 2: The REAL Bidding
This wave is the actual bidding for the box. Use the guage highest bid as a guestimate of how much others are bidding.
As well this wave has a bidding threshold. Nobooty will announce the threshold and and bids that:
- are over or are close to the threshold should be sent as a /pay
- are under the threshold should be sent in a /tell
All non-winning bids will be returned.
After the bidding time is up the highest bid is then offered to the contestant and they choose... Booty! or No Booty!
surPRIZES
While the rest of this exciting picking, choosing, and bidding is going on, Nobooty might throw in a surPRIZE round. You might have to answer a trivia question or complete a task in order to win a surPRIZE box. These contain random weapons, clothes, trinkets, or something really rare. Occasionally, extra twists may occur, such as gambling the contents of the box or opting for a blind sum of cash.
surPRIZE rounds will be when Nobooty decides so Don't ask him or he will push back the time of surPRIZE rounds.
Switcheroo
After round 6 the current contestant will be given a chance to open one of two special boxes usually named in a pair like "Cat" and "Dog" or "High" and "Low". One box has no effect and the other allows the player to trade their box for the last remaining unopened box, this is ONLY if they wish to. The contestant wins whatever is in the box they hold at the end switcherooed or not.
