The /broadcast command is only available for use by Ocean Masters and developers. They can use it to send a message to all of the pirates currently online on a particular ocean.
The command has many uses:
- Reboot intervention/postponement
- Event announcements
- Immediate contact with the player base (used only on Ice when discovering new bugs)
The command was added in the first Alpha update in late 2002. Release 2002-10-31.
