Shanghais

A shanghai or shanghai point is given to a crew when one of its members subscribes or buys doubloons for the first time. Each account has only one shanghai to give; at the time of an account's first payment, the shanghai is awarded to the crew of the pirate most recently logged in on the appropriate type of ocean (subscriber or doubloon). Shanghais are used for renaming ships and crews. The number of shanghai points a crew currently has (as well as the crew's total accumulation) is visible on the crew's information page by the captain and senior officers.

Shanghai Use

Shanghais may be "spent" to rename ships and crews. To do so, an Ocean Master must be petitioned, and the crew's captain must either be present or must have given permission to another crew member to spend the points. If a crew has no captain, they must name a person who has authorization to use the shanghai points in their private statement.

For more information, see the Official:Services page.

Ocean Master Services

Ocean Masters are game moderators, responsible for maintaining the oceans and reviewing complaints and petitions. In addition, they offer several special services for you and your crew:

Trinkets

Reward outstanding members of your crew with special medals, ribbons, cards, and more! The Palace Shop, located in the first door on the right at any palace, sells awards for almost any occasion. For a list of currently available trinkets, check the Trinket page.

Charm

Charm is non-gameplay altering decoration, such as trees, plants, and rocks, that can be placed on an island by its governor, with the help of an Ocean Master. Charm prices currently start at around 50,000 PoE. Send Artemis a petition in the game for details.

Usually only common, inconspicuous objects can be purchased. If Artemis approves of a more noticeable addition, it will likely cost much more.

Ground tiles cannot be adjusted.

The process for removing unique charm that has been placed by someone else will be the same as an island transfer in terms of how to go about doing it. Removals will be done on Mondays or Tuesdays and an intent must be posted in Parley at least a week ahead of time with at least one viable blockadeable weekend (so you'd have to post by midnight on Monday, and have the island open for blockade that weekend for the removal to happen the following Monday.) Price will be the same as it cost to place the item. Contact Artemis if you have any questions.

Yohoho Tools may be helpful in planning your island layout, including charm you'd like to add.

Walking animals can be purchased as pets from the palace shoppe, which the governor can then set to roam on the main island scene.
