A petition is the fastest way to contact an Ocean Master for game questions and issues. There are Ocean Masters online 24 hours a day to answer petitions and address complaints of players in the game.

To petition, go to your Ye panel, click the "Help" button, and click the "Petition" button. This brings you to the "Petition Help" page, where you can categorize your question and check to see whether the answer to it is in the list of frequently asked questions. Simply click the appropriate category link. If your question does not fit into any of the categories, you may click the "My question does not fit into any of these categories" link and enter your petition.

If you are able to categorize your question, but your specific query does not appear in the list under that category, you can click the "You may ask an Ocean Master your question by clicking here" link.

Once your petition has been submitted, it is put into the petition queue and will be answered in the order in which it was received. During the busy hours, about three petitions per minute are received, so please have patience and do not send tells to the Ocean Masters asking when your petition will be answered.

When your petition has been answered, you will receive a notification whistle and an alert message on your screen. In some cases, the Ocean Master will request additional information from you which you can then add via the petition interface. In other cases, where no additional input is needed, the Ocean Master will answer your question and mark the petition as "Resolved".

Good Petitioning Practices

Make sure that petitions are the most appropiate tool to use. /complain or /bug are more appropiate in many situations.
If you're petitioning to have a boat renamed, include the boat's current name, the boat's proposed new name, where it's ported, who holds the deed (or at least a crew/flag), and which crew the shanghais are coming from.
If you're claiming an event prize, include the event name, the prize you're eligible for, which Ocean Master is responsible for the event, and a link to that event's forum post. Note that there are some events where you should not petition for prizes, such as those where the event organizer is giving them out. Always read the event results post before you try and claim a prize.
Keep your petitions polite, concise, and few. Abuse of the petition system is a bannable offense.
