Cryo Island is an outpost island located in the Puffin Archipelago. There are two known routes from this island: Auk Island and Hoarfrost Island.

History
This island is likely named after the prefix cryo-, derived from the Ancient Greek κρύος (krúos, “ice, icy cold, chill, frost”), which is used in words such as cryogenics, the study of the production and behavior of materials at very low temperatures and the study of producing extremely low temperatures.
Cryo Island was originally located on the Sage Ocean. Currently no inscription can be found, but Tamsin was its designer.
The island featured in the 2008 Halloween events — during the event, pirates who visited the island would be turned into ghosts, and it contained the third hint for solving Vargas the Mad's riddle.

In August 2008, Brynhild Skullsplitter took control of the island as part of its opening for colonization.

Cryo II, 2008-09-13: Honor Above All colonized the island in a four round sinking blockade, defeating Ice Wyrm's Brood and Unseen University.
Cryo III, 2008-10-05: Blades of Sage took control of the island in a four round non-sinking blockade.
Cryo IV, 2008-10-26: The island was successfully defended from the attack of Admiral Finius and his flag Fleet of his Imperial Scaled Highness in a five round sinking blockade.
Cryo V, 2008-11-01: The island was successfully defended from the attack of LummyVille in a three round sinking blockade.
Cryo VI, 2008-11-08: Silent Assassin's took control of the island in a three round non-sinking blockade.

Cryo XXX, 2012-03-03: The island was successfully defended from the attack of Private Property.
Cryo XXXI, 2012-04-07: The island was successfully defended from the attack of Fleet of his Imperial Scaled Highness.** Admiral Finius was named governor of Cryo on April 5th. Governorship was returned to Crickket at the insistence of the OMs on the 7th in order to prevent unknown problems with game mechanics. Admiral Finius did not make an appearance at the blockade and all ships that entered the blockade became frozen with pirates not being able to station. In addition the round 1 blockade clock began counting up only stopping with the reboot Monday morning.
