A note on labor and wages

There are very few products at the apothecary that require expert labor. Often, unscrupulous business owners will advertise wages with extremely high expert pay in hopes of attracting employees even though they have ordering on these products turned off.

Only the following items require expert labor to produce:

Historical Notes

The role of the apothecary has changed greatly since the oceans were originally opened. Initially, the apothecary produced only four dyes. As shoppekeepers only needed to stock four raw materials, and they only sold their finished goods to weavery owners, they were among the easiest shoppes to run, but lowest in profit margin. Nonetheless, during the Midnight shoppe auctions, many crews and flags bought apothecaries knowing that the Ringers planned on expanding their product line at some point down the road. Their investment eventually paid off, as the apothecary's range has been expanded on four separate occasions and now plays a part in the production or improvement of almost all finished goods in the game.
