Talk:Parrot
Color Error? No.
Not sure who made this and if they can regenereate, but the purple body color (column) is booched: it's a second navy column! — Callistan (talk/contrib) 13:56, 28 August 2005 (PDT)
- It looks fine in my browser.... --Barrister 18:15, 28 August 2005 (PDT)
- Color checking with an image editor will reveal that they are definitely different. Your monitor might need color calibration :) --Guppymomma 21:04, 28 August 2005 (PDT)
- Hmm.. I didn't do any editor checking, but eyeballing it, the body colors of the birds at the top of the colum look deathly similar to those in the navy column, yes I can now tell the difference from those at the bottom... then I keep looking... and there appears to be a slight difference in some at the top. Yes, definately a difference. I may just be going colorblind, carry on about yer buisness... nothing to see here. — Callistan (talk/contrib) 05:02, 29 August 2005 (PDT)
- That's because they designed the colors of the parrot like the colors of painting ships/rooms, with a darker & lighter version of the color for the different parts so they don't look exactly the same. --Guppymomma 07:47, 29 August 2005 (PDT)

Color order
When referring to the color of a parrot, which color do we refer to first/last? Does it go body color/head & tail color, or the other way around?
- I believe it's always refered by head/body in terms of colors.Rappak 10:21, August 29, 2005 (PDT)
- So we're sure it's head/body? Just checking before I do any individual splitting of 'em for the familiars won pages :) --Guppymomma 11:50, 22 October 2005 (PDT)
The body colours for navy and purple are similar; they are different.
New colors
I did screenshots from the tournament boards of the TD and SF tournaments. To create the missing 117 (3x18+3x18+3x3) combinations only a parrot with rose head is missing.
It would be nice, if there wouldn't be a need to upload 117 new individual images. It could be done similar to the trinkets. But putting all parrots in one image and then reducing it to PNG-8 loses quite some color quality already (btw. pngnq is horrible in this respect, gimp does a better job it seems), without trying to squeeze additional colors into the 255 color palette. --Alfwyn 09:52, 25 March 2008 (PDT)
