Welcome to the shimmering world of Shiny Sun Points! Originally crafted by the legendary Apollo, these bright little rewards have been a staple of doodle-style events, sparking creativity all around the oceans. The goal is simple: have fun, try new things, and let your imagination run wild while you earn shiny rewards along the way. 🌞
Whether you remember the very first Shiny Sun events or you are just discovering them now, you are warmly invited to join in. Newcomers are absolutely welcome, and seasoned pirates can dust off their old totals and keep building on them. Let’s keep the spirit of Shiny Sun alive and shining brightly.
🌅 A bit of history
Shiny Sun Points were first introduced by Apollo in 2012 as part of a series of small, creative “Shiny Sun Point Events,” similar in style to the December Daily Doodles. Players could take part in drawing, writing, crafting, and all sorts of odd little challenges to earn points and trade them in for special prizes.
After Apollo’s retirement in 2015, other Ocean Masters continued to run Shiny Sun events, with Clotho taking over the administrative side of tracking points and prizes.

🌞 Exchange your Shiny Sun Points!
Once you have enough Shiny Sun Points, you can trade them for shiny goodies. Here is the current prize list:
- 5 points - Hera egg
- 10 points - Flower trinket (daisy, lily, rose, orchid, long-stem rose)
- 15 points - Flowers trinket (daisies, lilies, roses, orchids)
- 20 points - Decorative small cannonballs
- 25 points - Horus jar
- 25 points - Anubis jar
- 25 points - Ancient vase
- 25 points - Anubis statue
- 30 points - Decorative cannonballs
- 60 points - Clotho egg
- 80 points - Tan familiar (your choice between parrot, monkey, or octopus)
- 120 points - Colored familiar (your choice between parrot, monkey, or octopus)
- 150 points - Clotho doll
- 150 points - Hera doll
- 180 points - Apollo egg
- 200 points - Apollo doll
EIGHT MEEEEELLION points will no longer be awarded. However, Faeree’s brother may still claim Apollo’s (fake) eternal servitude.

🎁 Prize Details
Points are usually awarded in the following denominations: 
- All trinkets and dolls are inscribed with your pirate name and a short message from the Ocean Master who grants the prize.
- Flower trinkets: you pick the color from the regular cloth color palette. No limited edition or sea monster colors.
- Decorative cannonballs: you choose a shot color and a box color (same regular cloth color restrictions as above).
- Familiars: you may choose from the standard range of familiar colors. No limited edition colors, no skeletal, and no solid white or solid black.
🌟 Claiming Shiny Sun Points
- To claim a Shiny Sun Prize, send a petition titled "Claim Shiny Sun Prize".
- Shiny Sun Points can be combined into any one pirate on the same account.
- Shiny Sun Points are not transferable to other accounts.
- You’re welcome to show off your prize or cheer yer mates in our Discord thread.
☀️ Process and Updates
- Current points totals will be updated shortly after each event where Shiny Sun Points are awarded.
- We reserve the right to withdraw or alter the value of any prize on the list without notice.
- We also reserve the right to grant Shiny Sun Points in any event that we deem fit.
- If the Shiny Sun Points system is ever going to come to an end, we will attempt to give a reasonable amount of notice for players to exchange their points for prizes.
💡 Questions, ideas, and feedback
If you have ideas for new Shiny Sun prizes, or clever twists on existing ones, feel free to share them. If it is something we can actually deliver in-game, and the powers that be can be sweet-talked into it, you never know what could appear on the prize list.
To keep things sunny, requests for limited edition colors or limited edition items will not be considered here.
