Remora Island is an outpost island in the Sapphire Archipelago. There are four known routes from the island: Beta Island, The Horseshoe Crabs, and inter-archipelago routes to Byrne Island and Papaya Island in the Diamond Archipelago.

History

Remora is named after the fish whose shape it resembles.^[1]

Remora I - 2004-08-28, Widows and Orphans attempts to colonize the island, but is thwarted by a defense provided by Crimson Tide. The island remained uncolonized.

Remora II - 2004-09-15, Blood Eagles defeats Heros of Midnight and a player organized defense to take control of the island in a twelve round blockade. This is the first island to be won in the twelfth round.

After beginning colonization, Blood Eagles initially names the fort "Whocutta Fort", but later changes the name to "Fort Narthex" after receiving complaints.^[2]

Remora III - 2004-10-24, Allied Foundation defeated Blood Eagles in a seven round non-sinking blockade to take control of the island. Remora becomes the first island taken from another player-controlled flag via blockade.

Remora IV - 2005-02-06, Allied Foundation successfully defended against Notorious Fandango in a three round non-sinking blockade.

Remora V - 2005-04-16, Death Before Dishonor defeated Allied Foundation in a three round sinking blockade to take control of the island.

2005-05-16, Death Before Dishonor changed its name to Disturbing the Peace, retaining control of Remora.

2005-05-23, Dark Judgement took control of Remora after Disturbing the Peace disbanded.

2005-08-25, Lunar Bin took control from Dark Judgement. ^[3].

Remora VI - 2005-11-05, Lunar Bin successfully defended against Kol Nidre in a three round non-sinking blockade.

Remora VII - 2007-09-01, Lunar Bin successfully defended against the Brigand King Azarbad the Great in a three round sinking blockade.

Remora VIII - 2007-12-08, Lunar Bin successfully defended against Punks Of The Sea and Blighted in a three round non-sinking blockade.

Remora IX - 2008-09-23, Lunar Bin successfully defended against Vexillam Odiamus in a four round non-sinking blockade.

Remora X - 2009-08-01, Lunar Bin successfully defended against Royal Flush in a three round non-sinking blockade.

Remora XI - 2009-10-31, poe chums defeated Blood and Roses and The Black Sheep in a four round sinking blockade to take control of the island. Lunar Bin did not defend.

Remora XII - 2009-11-07, Fallen defeated poe chums in a three round non-sinking blockade to take control of the island.

Remora XIII - 2010-03-27, Anchor Management defeated Fallen in a three round sinking blockade to take control of the island.

Remora XIV - 2011-02-05, Tyr's Own defeated Anchor Management in a five round non-sinking blockade to take control of the island.

Remora XV - 2011-02-19, the Brigand King Azarbad the Great defeated Tyr's Own to take control of the island. The blockade was run as an event by Tyr's Own, with no formal defense mounted.^[4]

Remora XVI - 2011-03-06, Menaces defeated Azarbad the Great and Drop the Coin to take control of the island.
