How big is the world?

The Great Ocean is vast, unfathomable, and terrifying. Yet the Archipelagoes are smaller, their Seas more easily mapped by explorers. And that's just one Ocean! Puzzle Pirates currently supports nine Oceans: Midnight, Cobalt, Viridian, Sage, Hunter, Malachite, Crimson the family server, Jade the Spanish server and the German server Opal. Added in crimson and jade

Navy Jobbing and Events And Stories

Some thoughts, as this page's documentation is definitely dated.

In the section about Navy jobbing: Of course such voyages have a little danger of their own, as ye might be boarded during the voyage by marauding Pirates. Chances are they might recognise a Pirate amongst men and offer you better wages to jump ship and join them. This should probably be removed altogether, as it's not been true for ages. In the Grand Events and Story section: particularly as we add new gameplay and expand the accessible Ocean by introducing maps to new Archipelagoes. Is this actually going to happen? My guess would be no (Azure was expanded, but I don't see such a thing happening to any currently existing ocean). That also applies to the section for "How big is the world?" Anyhow, that's enough nitpickery for the moment. --Thunderbird 23:40, 25 January 2006 (PST)

Beat me to it. --Behindcurtai 13:04, 27 January 2006 (PST)

How big is the world?

Upon occasion, as the shipping routes of the known Archipelagoes become more congested, a new route is found to an undiscovered Sea where virgin islands can be found.

And that's just one Ocean!

-- As far as I know, there are no plans to add new islands and new routes and new arches to existing oceans. --Behindcurtai 13:12, 27 January 2006 (PST)

...wondering...

"It is not possible to transfer Pirates, Crews or other entities between Oceans."

I'm wondering if "It is not possible to transfer Pirates, Crews, Ships, PoE, or Property (except for Doubloons) between Oceans" might be a better way of phrasing it... not a lot of people want to swap their crew or flag to a new ocean, but I imagine the OMs get at least a couple "Can u move mi boat 2 cobold plz?" petitions per shift, if people asking the same question on the Forums is anything to go by. --Ponytailguy 16:46, 20 April 2006 (PDT)

The same thing came up just the other day, here. It would probably be best to make it as clear and specific as possible, so as to reduce the number of petitions. --Emufarmers 17:04, 20 April 2006 (PDT)

Speeeling...

Archipelagoes - should be Archipelagos I'm sure.

I'm sure suptuous is meant to be sumptuous. (Can I own property?)

Simultanous should be simultaneous (How many Pirates can sail an Ocean?) --Sagacious 10:01, 24 April 2006 (PDT)

It's archipelagos. --Guppymomma 10:31, 24 April 2006 (PDT)
Indeed: MS Word can be your friend on those sorts of tricky words. :P (You're right about the other two, though.) By the way, are Admins allowed to fix mispellings and the like in the docs when they see them, or do they have to call in a Ringer or OM? --Emufarmers 10:54, 24 April 2006 (PDT)
We are permitted to fix spelling errors (and grammar errors too I think), but that's about it. --Thunderbird 10:59, 24 April 2006 (PDT)
I booched it! I meant to say the spelling should be archipelagos :-( It's because when I first wrote this little bit, It read 'Archipelagos - not Archipelagoes' and when I rephrased it a bit, I didn't switch the words... --Sagacious 11:14, 24 April 2006 (PDT)

Grammar nitpick

In the Are there missions or quests section, the following is put in as an entire sentence: "Any major Port jobbing voyages available." Does that make sense to anyone else? --Thunderbird 22:03, 31 May 2006 (PDT)

Updated to Include Malachite

Just dropping a note to let everyone know that the two minor edits I made to this page today were just updating the information to include Malachite. -- Muffynz(t/c) 21:55, 20 June 2008 (PDT)
