Celebrate Earth day and show me your green!
Trash and pollution, melting glaciers, climate change, what's going on here? The oceans are getting warmer and more acidic, causing unpredictable weather patterns, rising sea levels, and all sorts of havoc on their fragile ecosystems. And frankly, the increased temperature and extreme precipitation is just bad for my hair! It's all well and good that in the modern age, people are trying to do something about it. Solar panels, hybrid and electric cars and other eco-friendly innovations are all the rage these days. I have to ask, how much better off would we be if we'd started this long ago, during the Golden Age of Piracy?
Galene Goes Green!
All year long Galene is rose. For this event, I'm throwing that all out the window and going GREEN. Here's how you can help. Come up with a concept that is eco-friendly, something suitable to implement in game specifically, that helps reduce our ecological impact and work toward a sustainable future for generations of pirates to come!
Prizes
Include BRAND NEW furniture!
- 1st prize: Inscribed Gold Pirate Trophy, Galene doll and a Cherry tree
- 2nd prize: Inscribed Silver Pirate Trophy and Vase with plant
- 3rd prize: Inscribed Bronze Pirate Trophy and Potted plant
- Honorable mentions will receive other prizes such as different plants, green or "earthy" trinkets, clothes or furniture. Other prizes may be added depending on participation.

Entry Template:
Pirate Name: Ocean: Concept Art: (one or two images showing your concept) Concept Description: (a brief paragraph, 200 words max, describing your concept)
What do you have to do?
- Come up with an eco-friendly concept that could (in theory) be implemented in game. Options include, but are not limited to, reducing waste, sustainability, or otherwise reducing our environmental impact.
- 2-D artwork to demonstrate your idea. This could be a blueprint for an invention, a drawing or sketch as examples. Use of in-game graphics is permitted.
- Come up with a brief paragraph to describe your concept and explain how it works or what it aims to improve. There is a hard limit of 200 words for this.
- Host your image(s) on Imgur. You don't need to make an account--just upload them
- Submit your entry in the entry thread in the Mariner's Muse following the template above
- Double check your entry to make sure your image link works and that you have not exceeded the word count for the description.
Judging Criteria
Judging will be based upon the creativity and cleverness of your idea, for the most part. Your score will be 25% concept art, 25% write-up of your proposal (how well you get your idea across), and 50% just on how much I like the idea itself and how much thought it looks like you've put into the details.

- Only one entry per player
- Entry must be posted by event deadline-Entry thread will then be locked.
- Design must be original and your own, and not designs submitted to other contests, but may contain in-game artwork.
