|Shoppes and Stalls|
A tailor is a shoppe or stall where clothing can be purchased. Tailors are highly popular among new players and old ones alike because of their relatively large number of products offered and customization options.
Buying from a tailor
Tailors are unique among shoppes because they can offer a selection of premade products for sale directly in-game. This is called buying from the rack.
Buying from the rack allows pirates to try on clothing items before buying, although items off the rack may cost more than the order cost. This extra cost covers not only effort the shoppe-keeper made in keeping the rack stocked, but on doubloon oceans, the rack price will also include the PoE equivalent of the doubloon delivery cost. Note that items on the rack are not guaranteed to be brand-new, even if their condition is marked "new". If a pirate does not mind waiting for an order and would prefer clothes to be brand-new, it may be cheaper to order from the tailor through its ordering interface.
Opening a tailor stall or shoppe
Tailor stalls can be rented at a tailor bazaar. Anyone can open their own stall in a bazaar with an amount of PoE that is determined by the type of stall, the population of the island, and the island's tax rate. Doubloon oceans also require 10 doubloons to open a stall. Players can open a tailor shoppe by speaking to the governor of an island and seeing if real estate is available, but this often costs 100,000 PoE or more if the pirate is not in the governor's flag. Both shoppes and stalls pay a weekly rent which is deposited into the palace coffers.

A tailor offers a massive array of products. Well-stocked tailors can produce over 13,000 different products. The rack can hold up to 2,000 individual items.
These commodities can be offered for automatic trade with other stalls or ships. Other commodities can be stored in the hold but can only be traded manually.
- Basic commodities: iron, Kraken's ink.
- Herbs: broom flower, elderberries, yarrow.
- Minerals: Tellurium, gold nuggets.
- All cloths except sail cloth.
- Enamels: yellow and orange.
|A basic tailor also requires 30 doubloons|
A tailor bazaar must be completed before a tailor shoppe can be built. (Exception: outpost islands.) A tailor bazaar is 6x6 while a shoppe is 5x5.
Labor and storage
|Labor & Storage|
|Max labor/hr||Mass (kg)||Volume (L)|
Each size tailor has different amounts of labor that can be used per hour, and different amounts of storage space. The more labor that can be used, the faster the tailor can produce orders.
