Each point in the grid is a possible league point. Some league points have an associated island. Travel between islands must go through adjacent league points. A chart will show the sequence of league points between two islands.
League points can also be memorized, at which point they change from green to brown on Yer known world. When a blockade is in effect, the ocean view of the island's league will turn red.
League points have three possible colors on the grid. Grey indicates that they are available from a chart on the ship's chart table. Green indicates that they are available from a chart held in the pirate's inventory. Brown indicates a memorized league point. Unmemorizable league points as contained in Atlantis charts show as red.
Memorized league points take precedence over league points in charts on the ship's table, which in turn takes precedence over league points on maps held in hand. This means that if a league point is memorised, it will appear brown regardless of whether the pirate has the map in hand, or is on a ship with the map on a table. Similarly, you are on a ship with the map on its table, but do not have the league point memorised, it will always appear as grey, regardless of whether the league point appears on a chart your inventory. Atlantis league points are superceded by everything else, whether they're on the ship's table or held in the inventory, and will thus not acutally appear on Yer known world unless it doesn't coincide with a league point already there.
Number of league points per ocean
These tables assist in working out how many league points must be memorized to hold certain portrait items.
