Date links
According to Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Tutorial (Wikipedia links)#Linking dates, the Date Format only works if dates are linked... I recall someone un-linking dates throughout the wiki; should we be linking dates here, or will the Date Format feature be removed? AySz88^-^ 17:49, 8 August 2005 (PDT)
- We had them linked, but it didn't format things. So we removed them :) Also, on Wikipedia there are X things happened on X day. However, YPP history isn't so...daily. --Guppymomma 17:51, 8 August 2005 (PDT)
Vanity Pages
There might be a preexisting article about something analogous already on Wikipedia (or here), but we might want to make a Guide to Writing Good Articles about Pirates/Crews/Flags for YPPedia sometime? Maybe ideas like a crew history for a pirate, or basic things to avoid like POV. (And this page is way underused.)AySz88^-^ 22:51, 16 August 2005 (PDT)
FAQ?
So the FAQ link goes nowhere....should we be writing one? --Guppymomma 21:27, 6 September 2005 (PDT)
- Perhaps. Is anyone getting any questions? --Bia 22:08, 6 September 2005 (PDT)
Wikipedia Link in "other links"
^^ I think it makes sense, and it'd be a good threeclick way to get to Wiki from my favorites list. :)
- I'm not sure I'm really big on this as the "other links" so far contain things directly related to the topic of YPPedia, Puzzle Pirates. --Guppymomma 18:39, 14 September 2005 (PDT)
Misc bits
The page needs a little color :) I also think there should be a little box on there mentioning if someone's up for vote in the RfA stuff. --Guppymomma 10:54, 18 October 2005 (PDT)
Does anyone use this page?
I see we haven't updated it in a zillion years it seems. Does anyone use this thing? Would it be better to try to keep it up to date or to just replace the link to it on the sidebar with something that folks use more often? --Guppymomma 11:21, 11 March 2006 (PST)
- I virtually never use this page; my preference would be for it to be replaced with a link to the style guide, since that's a very useful page, and could be easier to find. --Emufarmers 15:26, 11 March 2006 (PST)
- I just found it and put a watch on it. I guess part of the usefulness is gone because of the protection, though I suppose discussing the weekly projects could happen on the talk page. The projects at the bottom are exactly the sort of thing I was trying to whip up with the Cleanup Crew before work kicked me in the keester. (Still haven't given up on it, though...) --AtteSmythe 21:31, 6 July 2006 (PDT)
Reworking the portal
Just wanted to make a list of things that people would find useful in the portal, feel free to add to it & make more comments. --Guppymomma 10:48, 15 August 2006 (PDT)
- Links to things that are needed: the to do list, wishlist
- Links to important/current discussions
- Set of easy links to the sample pages & policies attached to the different types of articles (pirate, flag, crew, uploading files, islands, etc) ordered by the article type
- Links to learning how to use the wiki type tutorials
Peer Review
I wasn't quite sure where to propose this, but as most people check recent changes this should get spotted. I'm a fan of Wikipedia's peer reviewprocess and thought something simmilar may benefit YPPedia in the same way it benefits Wikipedia (albet with less frequent use)--Angelbeaver (talk) 20:43, 17 August 2006 (PDT)
- Looks like a nice idea. If you want to try YPPediaizing a version of it, go for it. --Guppymomma 20:49, 17 August 2006 (PDT)
- Started a draft here. Still not very happy with the wording. All input would be greatly appreciated.--Angelbeaver (talk) 05:21, 18 August 2006 (PDT)
- Completed a version of the page here. I'm not quite sure what to do; do I create the page and a sytem do I need to write more than that or what? I also havn't had any comments so I'm a bit lost. --Angelbeaver (talk) 19:42, 18 August 2006 (PDT)
- I'm admittedly not familiar with Wikipedia's system, but the page you wrote up sounds very reasonable to me. --AtteSmythe 20:20, 18 August 2006 (PDT)
- I've finished a first version and although the page is fine the peer review process it's self needs a test. I'd be happy to be the first 'victim' :P. Should it be moved to an official YPPedia: namespace? --Angelbeaver (talk) 17:05, 21 August 2006 (PDT)

Popular pages
The 'Popular pages' link under 'YYPedia highlights' doesn't work, Is this due to turning off page view tracking ? --Alfwyn 13:13, 12 February 2008 (PST)
- Well, I removed it (for reference/testing: Popular pages) --Alfwyn 07:58, 17 February 2008 (PST)
