Is it just me, or do none of the pictures on this page work?--Zyborg22 09:09, 30 August 2005 (PDT)

I can see 6 of the swords. --Barrister 11:04, 30 August 2005 (PDT)
Aside from the current image issues, I believe that this is still a work in progress. --Guppymomma 11:04, 30 August 2005 (PDT)
Yeah, those are the four weapons I've had done in portraits and the two I coudl tell just by looking. I've requested onthe forums for people to help us out with that.--Fiddler 13:16, 30 August 2005 (PDT)

Since I can't see how the cropping has been done, I'm putting links here for the different swords still needed that I've found in portraits as I find 'em. --Guppymomma 20:44, 1 September 2005 (PDT)

Short sword I think - http://midnight.puzzlepirates.com/yoweb/gallery/portrait.wm?pirate=Crazysarah&itemid=3252716

Short sword: http://midnight.puzzlepirates.com/yoweb/gallery/portrait.wm?pirate=Markozeta&itemid=5056079 --Markozeta 15:01, 2 September 2005 (PDT)

I don't think that those two are short swords. Short swords have a line going down the center of them, and these swords don't. To tell the truth, these swords look like foils or something similar.--Zyborg22 16:28, 2 September 2005 (PDT)
They're not, they're short swords. The designs seem to go more by the handle than the steel. --Guppymomma 16:31, 2 September 2005 (PDT)
It's my own portrait. Trust me, that's a short sword. --Markozeta 17:58, 2 September 2005 (PDT)

Page move?

Since the / doesn't seem to automatically put a link to return to Portrait at the top, I suggest this page be moved to Portrait (weapons) or something that looks better. --Guppymomma 08:58, 2 September 2005 (PDT)

Need long sword

The long sword image was lost. We need a new one. --Barrister 17:33, 12 February 2006 (PST)

Links to find various portraits with bludgeons.

Bludgeons aren't usable in portraits currently. The hand wrap is the Fight Club indicator. --Thunderbird 15:31, 30 March 2006 (PST)

Horizontal sword arrangement

Looks great - I'd make it on two even rows though so it fits nicely on smaller resolutions without the need for a horizontal scroll bar. --Sagacious 13:59, 15 April 2006 (PDT)

Good idea. Take a look. --Barrister 14:09, 15 April 2006 (PDT)
Much better! I'm reckoning that the bludgeon table will need to be split into two columns.--Sagacious 14:15, 15 April 2006 (PDT)
Having just uploaded the hammer image, I'm thinking that it would make sense to split up the bludgeons by those that are worn on both hands and and those that aren't.--Fiddler 14:43, 15 April 2006 (PDT)

FYI, I've standardized on a 45x170 size for all swords. In most cases, I found a portrait with a single pirate and took the top 170 pixels. The exceptions are the dirk, long sword, and stiletto which all came from group portraits. --Barrister 15:35, 15 April 2006 (PDT)

I'm keeping a Photoshop documents with all the original portraits that I find the bludgeons in. Once we find them all I can pick a standard size and will re-upload.--Fiddler 15:52, 15 April 2006 (PDT)
Actually the long sword came from a single portrait I found in the portrait categ gallery Here --Sagacious 16:20, 15 April 2006 (PDT)

Bleh - Two-handed Bludgeons arrangement is rather wide. Form into two rows? --Sagacious 06:29, 18 April 2006 (PDT)

Sextant

The sextant appears to vary based on if it's being held by a man or a woman. http://midnight.puzzlepirates.com/yoweb/gallery/portrait.wm?pirate=Fannon&itemid=5656083 --Barrister 02:24, 18 April 2006 (PDT)

The only difference that I see in the two sextants is the way they're being held. Is that what you mean? If that's the case, then that's not the only item that's held differently by women and men (even if it's just slightly).
Skulls - The man's fingers are more spread out than the woman's. It seems to be this way for all items held like the skull is, but I haven't verified that.
Cards - Man; Woman - The man's cards are held with the thumb and forefinger, with the thumb visible. The woman's cards are held with the forefinger, the middle finger, and (I presume) the thumb, with the thumb not visible.
Swords - The hands are positioned the same, but the woman's hand is at a different angle than the man's.
--Zyborg22 13:55, 18 April 2006 (PDT)
I have nothing useful to add other than I'm pleased as punch that my gallery is finally useful for something. --Fannon 13:57, 18 April 2006 (PDT)

Bludgeon pictures

Found a chain: [1]

Yoink! Large one that one... --Sagacious 14:53, 20 April 2006 (PDT)

I did a portrait with a skeleton bone 'specially for you guys. Man, it ruined the formatting of the page though. --Rixation 17:18, 20 April 2006 (PDT)

Found a fish: [2]--Barrister 09:20, 21 April 2006 (PDT)
Fish needs to be moved to 2 handed bludgeons...we need two rows for that aswell. --Sagacious 09:50, 21 April 2006 (PDT)
That fish is awfully stiff for something that was fished out of the water. --Thunderbird 11:29, 21 April 2006 (PDT)
Damnit! And I had been preparing for a fish portrait with my new wife: Well, I'm not giong to skip this opportunity to hawk it anyway! Roar! (On a more serious note, the fish in that shot is the same color as the pants; the same is somewhat true for my portrait, as well. For our portrait item images, especially with the bludgeons, where the item is often held over the pirate's body, we might want to try to get our images of them from portraits where the color of the bludgeon is sharply contrasted with the color of the pirate's clothes. That's just a minor quibble, though.) --Emufarmers 20:09, 21 April 2006 (PDT)

FYI, I have one of each of the purchasable bludgeons on Midnight. If someone would like to borrow one for a portrait, let me know. I'll probably be getting a skull rings portrait in the next day or so. --Barrister 17:45, 21 April 2006 (PDT)

I have one of each on Cobalt, same goes for borrowing if anyone needs them. --Rixation 19:01, 21 April 2006 (PDT)

Skull rings: [3] --Barrister 01:41, 22 April 2006 (PDT)

Blackjack: [4] --Barrister 03:32, 24 April 2006 (PDT)

Uploaded. --Sagacious 05:26, 24 April 2006 (PDT)

Belaying Pin original: [5] I tried to clip out that small section of face in the thumbnail, but it kept clipping the item itself, if anyone can clean it up feel free. --Rixation 13:09, 30 April 2006 (PDT)

Broken bottle: [6] --Barrister

Gaff: [7]. That's all of them. Anyone want to take the originals and re-crop them for sizes? I'm a little busy today. (Although there's still an issue with the cane.) --Barrister 12:58, 14 May 2006 (PDT)

What size do you want them at? Just enough to show the bludgeon? --Ponytailguy 13:03, 14 May 2006 (PDT)
Ideally, all the one-handed bludgeons would be a single size (like the swords). Similarly, all the two-handed bludgeons would be a single size. So, find the largest of each (belaying pin and cane, perhaps) to set the size. Thanks! --Barrister 13:22, 14 May 2006 (PDT)
WOAH! Upload is doing weird, weird stuff to my files. (24 big PNGs, and DEFINETLY not that warped... look at the Skull Rings and Gaff to see what I'm on about) I'm going to leave this and try again in a few hours. --Ponytailguy 14:01, 14 May 2006 (PDT)
Ever try refreshing? ;) --Thunderbird 14:05, 14 May 2006 (PDT)
Pfft, fine, rain on my HWFO parade. Anyway, I'm off to look for the ones I wasn't linked to. Ta! --Ponytailguy 14:09, 14 May 2006 (PDT)
The original Hammer and Leather Gloves images were pulled from my Ice gallery if you are looking for them. --Thunderbird 14:35, 14 May 2006 (PDT)
Cool beans. They're added, but I did some tweaking to the hammer's background so I could center it better. Anyway. --Ponytailguy 14:59, 14 May 2006 (PDT)
And Dionysus indulged me on the Alpha docks tonight. We now have a proper pimp cane. There's no way to make it fit into the same height box I used for the others, though. /em grumbles --Ponytailguy 17:16, 14 May 2006 (PDT)

New Portrait Item

there seems to be another portrait item, which Only OMs may or may not have access to.

refer to Nemisis's Cobalt Gallery: http://cobalt.puzzlepirates.com/yoweb/gallery/portrait.wm?pirate=Nemesis&itemid=4786268 --Lethallizard 22:49, 17 May 2006 (PDT)

That's the Hand Wraps item. --Thunderbird 23:08, 17 May 2006 (PDT)
I think Lethallizard means the item on the left. It looks like the kind of thing won from brigand kings --Barrister 23:46, 17 May 2006 (PDT)
Judging from the trinket files, it's one of the Widow Queen trinkets. --Thunderbird 23:58, 17 May 2006 (PDT)
We should grab it and put it in the Unknown category for now. --Barrister 00:25, 18 May 2006 (PDT)
Done - I hope I'm not the only one who thinks it looks very like a perfume bottle. --Sagacious (talk) 03:30, 18 May 2006 (PDT)
It could be some sort of obscure weaponry, used by female pirates to seduce those of the opposite gender... Aye it's a perfume bottle ;) And judging by the colours of the thing, im inclined to believe it is the Widow queen's--Lethallizard 03:45, 18 May 2006 (PDT)
It's grouped in ...\rsrc\bundles\media\yohoho-general\media\yohoho\icons\items\trinkets\13.png with the rest of the Widow Queen's trinkets, so yeah, I'll assume that as well. --Rixation(t/c) 11:20, 18 May 2006 (PDT)

Barnabas the Pale gives Ectoplasm: [8] --Barrister 20:41, 19 May 2006 (PDT)

Cloth

The bundle of cloth appears to no longer work to trigger the cloth portrait item. --Fannon 13:48, 21 May 2006 (PDT)

Did it ever work? I haven't seen many/any portraits about with pirates holding cloth... --Sagacious (talk) 13:50, 21 May 2006 (PDT)
Yes --Fannon 14:07, 21 May 2006 (PDT)

Seems to be working again. At least I had Cloth as an option when checking out the new background on Ice. --Thunderbird 21:59, 21 June 2006 (PDT)
