Wager ban
From YPPedia
- For the tiered limits on wagers, see wager limit.
- For the ban issued to pirates who break the Terms of Service, see ban.
A wager ban can be activated on an account by an Ocean Master at a player's request via a petition, and prevents that any pirate on that player's account from making wagers.
As a tool to help a player to manage their gambling habits, a wager ban is permanent once it is in place - it can never be removed. It should therefore be used only when a player is sure he or she cannot manage with willpower.
When a wager ban is activated, a player cannot participate in any of the following:
- A parlor game table with Pieces of Eight at stake
- A challenge with PoE or item(s) wagered by either player
- A tournament with an entry fee
But wager-banned pirates may still join the following:
- Tournaments which have items as prizes, provided there is no entry fee
- Frays against skellies, werewolves and zombies
Historical notes
- As of release 2011-10-18, wager-banned pirates may wager 100 PoE in frays against skellies, werewolves and zombies.
- With release 2012-04-30, the monster fray missions were made available to wager-banned pirates.
