Hypnos is one of the second wave of Ocean Masters hired by Three Rings.

He is the god of sleep, twin brother of Thanatos, god of death. His mother is Nyx, not to be confused with Nyx's Scions.

In the Puzzle Pirates world, Hypnos takes the form of a dark skinned man sporting a goatee and ponytail, usually seen shuffling forth in a bathrobe, bunny slippers, and sleeping cap. He speaks with a voice that he fancies is deep and rich in the fashion of James Earl Jones, but is probably more like the lovechild of Lawrence Fishburne and Mickey Mouse on helium.

Those who have spoken with Hypnos generally find him good-natured and amusing, if somewhat prone to nodding off in mid-conversation.

Hypnos moderates the Shore Leave forum, and has been known to get upset when the other Ocean Masters move threads into his domain, considering it akin to dumping their trash in his yard. He caused some mild controversy when he first started his "Shore Leave is not an 'anything goes' forum" campaign and the Davy Jones' Lockering of the Puzzle Pirates Wish Corrupter thread, but has since lapsed into general obscurity. We think he may be asleep at the wheel, but nobody wants to poke him to find out.

In September of 2006, Hypnos started working in the Three Rings office as the new community manager and liaison. He regularly posts in the Puzzle Pirates blog and moderates the Game Design forum for ideas to bring to the Ringers' table.
