Hypnotoad, or Toad is a resident of the Viridian Ocean, and occasionally the Sage Ocean. He has been involved in general ocean tarting and countless failed get-rich-quick schemes. He has good Drinking skills. Hypnotoad's favourite phrase is "To the Toadmobile!". He has many, many, many black sleeping hats and moves from crew to crew to crew.

Biography

Hypnotoad joined Puzzle Pirates in February of 2005, initially taking advantage of the 7 day trial on Midnight. When the 7 day trial was over he moved to the newly opened Viridian Ocean, where he was to remain.

As a pirate, his first talent was in Bilging, in which he earned legendary standing in his first 2-3 weeks. His first crew (he was loyal with) was New nWo, captained by Ragnorok. He quickly rose to senior officer rank along with Dirrachius but his main goal was to be captain of his own crew. Hypnotoad later created The Hypnophobia and joined Ragnorok's flag, Los nWos [1].

After Los nWos collapsed, Hypnotoad and his crew sought out more action. They joined up with a powerful flag, the newly-formed Infierno de los Diablos, in which he became a prince. Hypnotoad backed their first blockade attempt, which ended in defeat. During the blockade, his own war brig was sunk and he became the second pirate on the ocean to gain a hook, after Carpmaster, an alt who was later deleted. Hypnotoad's hook therefore became the oldest existing on the ocean. He left this flag soon after the blockade.

After a period of unhappy flag-hopping, Hypnotoad decided to disband The Hypnophobia (which had gone under a group of different names, illustrating Hypnotoad's indecisiveness) and joined the large Whit Dragons, headed by Whitberd. However the ever-ambitious Hypnotoad convinced Whitberd to create a flag. Without consultation Whitberd named the flag SuperWhitDragons. Hypnotoad was not very pleased. Later, Hypnotoad, Whitberd and Arolilja came up with a new name for the flag; they were to be called the RiddleMakers. After a series of arguments regarding leadership, and the direction the flag was heading, Hypnotoad left for another round of crew-hopping.

The crew-hopping, and constant pillaging continued into the summer. During this time Hypnotoad had become an ultimate swordfighter. Hypnotoad was convinced by a friend to join the earliest incarnation of the Shadow Company, headed by Tatical. It wasn't long before Shadow Company participated in their first blockade, again ending in defeat for Hypnotoad.

Hypnotoad became disillusioned by the warring/pillaging life, and retreated to carousing. Around this point he fell in league with Branflakes, Saltake, Triggster and Ingi who would tart about the Dragon's Nest Inn also. It was around this point he also developed a talent for the game Drinking and amassed a considerable wealth (see Illthree and his tournaments). During this period he joined Saltake's crew, whom later created the flag, Ebrius Feles. Hypnotoad became prince of the flag along with Branflakes. Although Ebrius Feles successfully blockaded Viridis Island, the island would be lost only a week later.

When the flag disbanded; he, Branflakes and Saltake joined the Unbreakable Metal Fleet, with friend Sjieg, where the three of them were given the rank of senior officer. It was while he was in this crew that he won a lime/black parrot for the Automated Drinking tournament on October 26th. He named this parrot Kes. From this point on he wouldn't actively participate in political affairs again; only helping to create and name Confusion.

Once he had left Confusion, he created Pen Island with Branflakes, Saltake, Icehottay and Ingi.

In April 2006 he won a tan octopus in Bia's Long Shift April Drink Tournament on Sage. Later it was recoloured to pink for free when the tan familiar tournaments were introduced. This octopus became infamous due to its name.

After feeling pretty big about himself for his wins in Drinking, Toad decided to pass on his secrets and knowledge to up-coming drinkers. These include Shauns, Kcaz and Kerix.

In May 2006 Hypnotoad declared his retirement. He gave Kes to Triggster, in exchange for the inn on Labyrinth Moors (in the Onyx Archipelago), which he named Innglish Teahouse.

In December 2006, Shauns, Kerix, Shogia and Hypnotoad of the team Salvador Dali's Big Ben won the Season 6 Viridian Drinking OCL. This win was notable for the team captain Shauns being banned during the early stages of the tournament (the team's only allowed swap was used early to get Kerix in), leaving the team only 3 strong. He won a white octopus named Hectocotylus, Hector for short.

During mid 2007 he left Pen Island to join Jerry's Kids II. After a difference in ideologies with Jerry; Hypnotoad, Saltake and Branflakes left. Saltake and Branflakes made their own crew, and Hypnotoad joined Depix, Phelusia and Ladadida in Mitch.

As of February 2008, Hypnotoad has just left Mitch to rejoin Pen Island, which was renamed to The Banana Implosion where he remains on his own.

He believes he has earned his kleos, and remains in retirement.
