Hypnotoad

Hypnotoad (Japanese: 催眠術にかかりやすい人〔睡眠薬〕のヒキガエル) (Russian: гипнотическая Жаба) is a resident drunkard of the Viridian Ocean. He is a notable philanthropist, and suave fellow. He was a politician for many crews and flags. His contributions to Marxist theory are commonly referred to as Toadism. He can regularly be spotted underneath a black sleeping hat, and in his inn, Innglish Teahouse on Labyrinth Moors.

The Rise and fall
Early life
Hypnotoad arrived on the Midnight Ocean in February 2005. He was reported as saying at the time, "u guyz was sposed 2 wake me wen we got 2 da isle of wight". Upon realising Midnight would only be free for the first week, he moved to the newly opened Viridian Ocean. He was reported as saying at the time, "lolol bai".
Viridian
Hypnotoad began his life in Viridian. He originally showed a flair for bilging, reaching ultimate ranking early on. Around April Hypnotoad captained his first crew.
Drunk Tart Era
Hypnotoad captained numerous crews, and became prince of an early incarnation of Infierno de los Diablos. He also co-founded (with Whitberd and Arolilja) the RiddleMakers. Hypnotoad eventually got tired of the pillageing life. He preferred sitting in Dragon's Nest inn, chatting over a tankard of pink lemonade. Here he fell in league with Branflakes, Saltake and Triggster.
About the time when the classic drinking rules were replaced with the new ones, Hypnotoad developed a knack for drinking. Whilst talking in the inn, he would wager for Drinking. During this period, Illthree would host large Drinking tournaments, averaging about 90k and a few doubloons for the winner. Hypnotoad soon asserted himself as one of the premier drinkers on the ocean.
-& the Kes
In October 2005, Hypnotoad won the October Automated drinking tournament. He won a black/lime parrot, which he named Kes. This was the 4th familiar won by drinking on Viridian, and the 10th familiar on the ocean altogether.
-& the Testicles
In April 2006 Hypnotoad won Bia's Long Shift April Drink Tournament, again for drinking, this time on the Sage Ocean. It was a tan octopus (before the time of tan familiar tournaments). He named it Testicles, although it was officially referred to as 'A non-family-friendly name'. When tan familiar tournaments were introduced he was offered to re-color it to any color he wanted. He did so, and changed its color to pink.
The rest of the year
The rest of 2006 was lost amidst booze and cheap hookers. Hypnotoad put his hook on his heart and vowed, "NEVAR AGAIN".
-& the Hectocotylus
In December 2006, Hypnotoad and his team, Salvador Dali's Big Ben (Hypnotoad, Kerix, Shogia and Shauns) won the Viridian drinking OCL. He won a white octopus, which he named Hectocotylus, better known as Hector.
2007 onwards
In early 2007 Hypnotoad decided to quit the game. He traded his parrot Kes to Triggster for the inn on Labyrinth Moors, as Hypnotoad thought Triggster could get more enjoyment out of his very own familiar, and it would be selfish to hold on to it when he had quit.
Hypnotoad also sold his Sage octopus for a hefty sum to Carolgr. He used the money earned to furnish his inn.
He didn't entirely quit Puzzle Pirates, however he started coming on less regularly. He did not participate in pillaging, politics or drinking.
Hypnotoad can occasionally be found lurking about the Viridian Ocean today. When pirates see him, they should be sure to wave heartily, buy him a drink uncontrollably and accompany him in the Will Smith dance.
