In the spirit of December Daily Doodles, Nemesis hosted some doodle-like events on the YPP Official discord in December 2024.

Ho-Ho-Hoist the Cookies: A Jolly Roger Holiday Bake-Off!

Design and decorate cookies that celebrate the holidays at sea. Link

I'm Dreaming of a White Elephant...

When Barnabas the Pale misunderstood the idea of a 'White Elephant' gift exchange, he brought an actual white elephant to the crew's holiday party! Tell the story of the adventures you'd embark on with your literal White Elephant. Link

First Place: Adrielle (A white elephant, and a portrait with Nemesis)

Adrielle's winning entry:

After receiving her elephant gift, Adrielle's hearties gathered for a bunny pillage! They sailed for some time, until Adrielle's first mate Ellenya noticed the ship's charts had crumbled to dust. They were lost.

To make matters worse, the verdant baghlah wasn't built for an elephant. Stomping around the deck, he'd accidentally knocked many supplies into the sea. The rum was almost gone!

Luckily, the crew spotted a mysterious pink ship named 'Barrbie Dream Boat'!

"Maybe they have rum!" Ellenya cried.

Adrielle requested permission to board, and was greeted with a surprised "Oh, it's YOU!"

T'was Nemesis. She explained she'd tried to get as far away from people as possible, and was TRYING to RELAX – ALONE!!!

"Oh!" Adrielle said excitedly.

The crew and elephant rushed aboard. The elephant disconnected the anchor somehow, setting the ship adrift.

Exploring the ship, the thirsty party found a magical creamy soda fountain. Seeing the human pirates enjoying the bubbly drink, the elephant decided to have a taste. He sucked up the soda through his trunk like a straw – but the bubbles made him ticklish and he couldn't contain a gigantic sneeze, covering everyone aboard in sneezed-out soda.

Nobody noticed the ship drifting dangerously close to the Cursed Isles. Several Sinister Sloops closed in around them. They were soon captured, and the Dream Boat sunk.

The cultists proudly took their captives ashore to show their leader, Vargas the Mad.

"Everyone seems cranky after Christmas!" Nemesis said wearily. "I remember you Vargas – from long ago. You never used to be this way..."

"All these years giving away puzzle pieces changed him?" Ellenya asked.

"Poor Vargas" Adrielle said. "I hope you find the piece of yourself that's lost so you can be happy again and treat others with kindness".

Vargas blew a raspberry.

Nemesis swiftly grabbed a ban stick from her boot and thwacked Vargas, shocking the cultists.

"Who'll be our leader now?!" They cried.

Nemesis said "Don't care, but it's NOT gonna be ME", then left.

The cultists noticed the white elephant, quickly adopted him as their leader, named him 'Enormous One', and forgot about their captives.

The elephant seemed content, so the crew decided it was time to head back toward the beach. They found Nemesis rummaging through cursed chests.

"Found a Vial of Venom!" she said. "Waste not, want not!"

The pirates and their saviour Nemesis borrowed some unguarded rafts to return to their ship.

"Sorry about your ship, Nemesis – can we give you a ride home?" Adrielle asked, "You can even become a bunny for the trip!"

"I'll accept the ride - because it's better than swimming - BUT I will NOT become a bunny" she said with disgust.

"It's sad Adrielle had to leave her elephant behind..." Ellenya lamented.

Thinking for a moment, Adrielle said "maybe time spent with old friends is the real gift of Christmas!"

Everyone agreed - except Nemesis, who suddenly developed sea sickness and had to jettison her lunch into the ocean.
