File:Construction icon.png Construction sites are the locations of buildings being built.
Only two construction sites can exist at a time on an island. While there is no limit to the number of infrastructure buildings that may be built in a week, only two shoppes may be built per week. Currently there are no game mechanic limitations to the shoppe building limit, but Ocean Masters and Ringers keep track of this in order to enforce the rule.
Construction sites act like a shoppe in most ways, but there are a few exceptions. They can post buy prices for iron, wood, stone and tancloth, but the max stock numbers are automatically set to what it takes to construct the building. As soon as the required commodities are in, the construction order is placed automatically.
When a construction site finishes, the following events occur:
- Anybody in the site at the time is thrown out.
- Any furniture placed inside is returned to the owner(s).
- The manager list is cleared.
- Any employees who had provided labor before the building finished are paid (instead of it being stored and given to them in the 12 hour intervals).
If an island with a construction site changes governors, the deed to the construction site transfers to the new governor.
