Thank you!

For your help on Bridalgirl's page ;) I'll play around with it later! user:tarajayne

Thanks from me too... didn't know about the {{Subst:templatename}}. That works much better.--Cedarwings 11:22, 28 February 2007 (PST)
Now that I've been thanked, I feel the need to thank Guppymomma for teaching me all of these things when I screwed up in other ways ;) -- Thefirstdude 13:33, 28 February 2007 (PST)

Other user talk pages

When you left your message about using other people talk pages to leave tips, it would have been handy if you said which user I hadn't done this one, I had left several notes to various people in the last and all but the one you spotted I had in fact used their Talk page. Thanks for the tip about the signature -- Vorky 22:48, 28 February 2007 (PST)

Ah, I'm sorry. There was someone else who had done it several times and I got you mixed up. -- Thefirstdude 23:21, 28 February 2007 (PST)

Ahahahahaha... I knew there was something else I hadn't fixed. And I spent so long doing it the first time as well... Cheers for the fix! --Whitemonkey 08:19, 1 March 2007 (PST)

Carpentry

I've reverted your revert. Unless an edit turns an article into a totally incomprehensible mess grammatically, you should simply tag it as needing a little cleanup if the edit has corrected information that needed to be more factual. From what I can see, Squashbuckle's edits were actually more factual and less grammatically incorrect than the previous version. --Guppymomma 12:33, 9 March 2007 (PST)

Frequency...

Aha! I should have known that there was a template. =) Also, I have a question for you, and I've been trying to catch you in-game, to no avail. Several of my friends have suggested that I seek being an admin, since I live there enough, and I'm usually the one everyone seems to ask about facts in the game. I'm still getting acquainted with many of the features, and I'm still learning, but I was wondering about the prospects of becoming an admin. Other than what I've already contributed, I've also been working on some content on my own (mostly a new user's guide) but have gotten hung up lately due to lack of rl time. In any case, any comments you would have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Sashamorning 19:28, 12 March 2007 (PDT)

Generally when I look at all the new active editors, I think about their adminship prospects and compare them to my own. I do not think my contributions have yet been significant enough to merit adminship, and all my little screw-ups don't really help (see my talk page archive...) Of course, I also haven't really made any major content contributions besides my own flag/crew/pirate pages. You have made significant other contributions, however I think you could still use some more time with getting to know the Wiki, and also some more experience with dealing with vandalism, and the other adminly duties. I do believe you will make a great admin quite soon, just not quite yet.
About catching me in-game, my time has been very limited lately due to evil RL, and I play almost exclusively on Midnight anyway.
I do believe that prospective admins should have a fair amount of experience with dealing with vandalism, managing templates, and marking pages for deletion. The judgment on when a page should be deleted immediately or left up for a bit pending a discussion or cleanup is also necessary, and this can not be learned without experience. Basically, my opinion on adminship is that if at least a couple users think you already are an admin, you would make a good one :) -- Thefirstdude (t/c) 03:00, 13 March 2007 (PDT)
OK, I'm having a serious blonde moment. Clearly I thought you were an admin. (You probably got that from the message.) I guess I had you confused with Thunderbird on the admin list, since I see you posting all the time. That being said, why AREN'T you an admin? (/e now sheepishly crawls back in her cocoon.) >.< Sashamorning 05:04, 13 March 2007 (PDT)
Lol, I confess to having thought Thunderbird was an admin as well (before he was, that is). I'm not an admin because I haven't nominated myself / been nominated, and I haven't done the former because I don't feel I have made enough significant contentual contributions. Sure I've done some template and cleanup stuff here and there, but not really anything new, or that no one else would have done had I not done it. Maybe I'm just overestimating the stringency of the expectations here. -- Thefirstdude (t/c) 16:04, 13 March 2007 (PDT)

Please don't warn Landonf. He's one of the Ringers that works on the wiki server stuff for Three Rings. It would probably also be nice if you staved off the desire to use the frequency template unless someone has made more than 10 edits in a row to a page. --Guppymomma 16:43, 16 March 2007 (PDT)

Oh god, oops :(. -- Thefirstdude (t/c) 16:44, 16 March 2007 (PDT)
