Naming schema for Spring Egguinox winning pictures
I'm curious what your naming scheme is for these contest pictures (e.g. File:Event-SE14-29Booful.jpg). Obviously, File:Event-SE14 makes sense, as does the forum name at the end. But where does that number come from? When I uploaded the one I did, I couldn't figure out the schema, so I just added one to the highest number. Did you have a specific logic behind the naming? Jlh0605 09:46, 2 May 2014 (PDT)
- It was the date the challenge was posted. Less useful for the spring doodles, but the dates made things much less confusing when december doodles were daily. (I just stole the scheme from whoever did the old doodle pages.) --Budclare2 17:20, 2 May 2014 (PDT)
Kraken reversion
Just to apologise for accidentally reverting your edits to Kraken today. I should probably log out when viewing diffs on a phone browser :D --Therobotdude 03:53, 14 November 2014 (PST)
- No worries. I hate being the only one booching things. ;) --Budclare2 17:46, 14 November 2014 (PST)
Trinket Disambig Link
Ahoy! Per your comments on this revision you made, it seemed as though you didn't know how to make the trinket link to the Truffle (trinket) page. I just thought I'd tell you what a kindly editor (Chupchup) once told me - the {{Trinket item}} (Usage) template has a disambig= option that allows you to point where you need. Thanks for your quality work on the wiki, and fair winds! Jlh0605 (t/c) 01:43, 7 January 2015 (PST)

Radiant phoenix feather palette
Ahoy! Regarding this edit, I have an issue with the palette you listed for the phoenix feather. As stated here, and as I describe further here, the phoenix feather was only meant to come in one color, the color we now call red. Trinkets in any color besides red were booched trinkets, and were only available in the very initial release (April 2012). As such, I think it's worth keeping the phoenix feather listed as one color (no palette) on the trinket page, while we can describe the details on the radiant phoenix feather page. Is this okay with you? Jlh0605 (t/c) 13:35, 16 February 2015 (PST)
- Ugh. I'd put a note on the trinket page, too. I always thought it was one color, until someone posted in the bazaar looking for a white one. So, confusing. An asterisk and a note should make it less confusing. --Budclare2 04:46, 17 February 2015 (PST)
Renaming pages
Hi - Just to let you know that the wiki has a handy built-in "move" button - this will let you quickly rename a page without admin intervention. You can find this near the "read/edit/view history" buttons. Normal users can rename most pages except files; admins have access to a file-move button too. I'm not sure why the file-move requires the extra leap, but that's one of life's mysteries :) --Therobotdude 13:09, 18 March 2015 (PDT)
- Wow, that's one well-hidden link. :( Thanks. Budclare2 14:58, 21 March 2015 (PDT)
Pet section on Infobox Island
You mentioned on another player's talk page that the pet section of the island infobox isn't all that clear, do you have any suggestions for improving it? --Thunderbird 15:29, 20 December 2015 (PST)
- Just adding an example showing the colorize pet template used inside the infobox template would be good. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but it just seemed like maybe that documentation might trip up people who haven't worked with templates much. --Budclare2 15:59, 20 December 2015 (PST)
Decay rates
Don't assume that the decay rates are the same between male and female versions of items. This may be the intention, but at one point the rates for the fez and male dive helmet were swapped. --Thunderbird 12:56, 6 September 2016 (UTC)
- A) All of the (very few) items with different decay rates are purchased from a tailor, not items from SMHs or boxes, and all of the SMH clothing that does have decay rates already are the same for both. (Assuming those numbers are correct. Gasp! I made another assumption. Should I retest every number on the wiki just in case?) B) Did you see a single male offer to help test anything at all in my forum thread? Including you, I couldn't help noticing. As it is, I'll probably get stuck creating a male alt to test the fricking octocorne (and maybe kraken tattoo). C) All of these items are years old and still have no decay information, and apparently no male has the slightest intention of helping. D) The chances of the box/SMH clothing even accidentally having different decay rates is fairly small (fez and diving helmets were added as a batch along with various female clothing, which makes mistakes easy, whereas adding just one or two items in both male and female makes it easier to NOT booch), and in my opinion having an almost-certainly-right number is preferable to having no number at all for several more years, since, again, apparently no males intend to help. E) My assumptions are both documented (unlike every other assumption on the wiki ever, and yes, there are plenty) and fairly reasonable, whereas you seem to consistently be oblivious to your own assumptions, and should therefore probably not keep making assumptions about my assumptions. F) There is only one of me, and I'd appreciate it if you'd find some way of contributing that does not involve implying (or, in the case of the forum thread, outright saying) that I ought to be doing even more work than I already am. Seriously. Stop it. Hell, if you had even suggested that I put question marks after the numbers for the male clothing, that would have qualified as constructive. Instead all you keep doing is sitting on your butt criticizing and not genuinely helping in the slightest. I have too much work to do to keep wasting time hand-holding people who are pretend-helping. --Budclare2 21:37, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
Handkerchief
Hi Budclare2,
Do you know where I can find each individual handkerchief image? I want to compile my own database to mark off each one individually. It may also work rather than having the huge .png image.
Example of a Greedy template I've made.
- Handkerchiefs work the same as the other trinkets, so there are no individual images (except for the one on the Trinket page). Sorry. --Budclare2 20:54, 11 October 2016 (UTC)
Idea for House of Paint
How about changing the redirect into the page and maybe change the former page into a redirect? Gunnerfreak on Cerulean 22:07, 2 December 2016 (UTC)
- I can't. I'd have to get an admin to delete the redirect page for me. It's not worth the bother. --Budclare2 22:11, 2 December 2016 (UTC)
Familiar box changes
You've probably noticed this already, but separating table cells in the middle of a template doesn't exactly play nice, since they both use |. This is part of the reason I did the faction thing like I did in the crew infobox (splitting the entire table cell into the sub-templates). --Thunderbird 02:56, 2 July 2017 (UTC)
- That's not the problem I was having. I was having punctuation confusion. ";color:#EEEEEE;" versus
- color
- #EEEEEE;. I break things in exciting ways. (I think this might be my first time visibly breaking anything semi-important. Milestone!) --Budclare2 03:29, 2 July 2017 (UTC)
thanks for the (new) fish-names
Seeing your name so much in the Recent Changes, I decided to look you up.
First of all, since your name starts with "Bud", imagine my surprise to discover your pirate is a lady! :-D
Second, after seeing your renamed ships and confirming for myself on Fishbase, I've added Bot, Box, Inch, and Mote to my list of acceptable fish-names. Thanks! ;-)

reply to "Various things"
Hi, I made a reply in my message box, but I'm also going to leave a message in yours. I know I have a horrible nature of communication, so feel free to call me out for it when it happens. I'm not deleting any of my posts on the talk pages because I do want this whole thing between us and the other editors to bite me in the butt later and shape my behavior to be better. If you want, you can delete the posts, but I know you probably want to keep it for historical sake. Also, if it's alright with you, can I ask you how things are done from now on if I'm not entirely sure, or have you reached the point where you're tired of me? Because if you are tired of my previous attitude, not trying to sound at all rude, that's alright too. I may still make mistakes in the future, but I am not trying to purposefully agitate anyone that doesn't agitate me. --Jzburda 00:53, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for adding my Obisidian pirate :)
Hi,
Thanks for adding the Obsidian part in my Ilse-West pirate :) I totally forgot to add that. --Scrappy 09:47, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
Budclare! could you be my easy button?
I want to change my portrait to a more current version. OR I would like to pick the portrait I want from the past. Any thoughts on how to change this? ALSO, hi! ♥—Preceding unsigned comment added by Tandecker (talk • contribs) 21:57, 19 March 2019
- Yeah, tell me which one you want to use. Also, very belated hi. :) --Budclare2 05:47, 7 April 2019 (UTC)
