Template talk:My trinkets/Arrrmageddon 2006

Colors

Only problem here is, I think the trinkets were colored depending on which team won them. So we'll need a color chart of all the trinkets for this to be completely accurate. --Muffynz 11:29, 1 November 2006 (PST)

Yes, that's true. Unfortunately, it's true of all the other 'trophy trinkets' as well, if you check. It's not perfect, but I don't have a perfect solution for now. The real solution would be to put a tertiary color parameter in, and have that be the ocean. Then the template would choose from a two-dimensional array of ocean and place numbers, and they'd be colored accordingly. The two hinderances are that the trinket template doesn't take three color parameters (maybe worth adding), and I haven't been able to collect the images for all the old events, which are going to be different for every ocean. --AtteSmythe 11:35, 1 November 2006 (PST)
I could probably make an effort to dig up all the ones for the oceans if it really seems desired. --Guppymomma 11:40, 1 November 2006 (PST)
I actually have alts from different teams across the oceans for the different events particularly on Viridian. If someone could give me a little guidances I could easily get screenies containing several of the trophies. Back for Zombie 2005 I was one of those nut jobs that had hoped they would be tradable for a full set and had access to 3 or 4 different versions for Viridian and could hit up mates to show me there others. What is needed and where should I put them or what naming standard should I use? --Kgarrett1969 12:22, 1 November 2006 (PST)
Actually, you should be able to do this with only two colors. Color1= ocean, color2= place. Since each color only occurred once on each ocean, you'd end up with a trinket table akin to what you find at the bottom of 2005 Halloween events.--Fiddler 11:43, 1 November 2006 (PST)
Aye, you're right. I don't know how I got the tertiary stuck in my head. Well, never mind! I'll go rip that 3rd-color code out of the template. ;) --AtteSmythe 11:48, 1 November 2006 (PST)
Actually since place is already in primary if we just stuck ocean in secondary then the table would come off with very little impact to existing usage if I'm not mistaken. May have to take into acount no value or ignore for secondary but that shouldn't be too hard.
While Atte does that, I've gone and grabbed all the images off the board before they get nuked. These are all the ones you'll ever need. Better still, the phantom chalice and ghost PoE don't have any colour variations.

Competition color charts

This is the chart to fill in: Image:Trinket colors competition blank.png. I'll start with Arrrmageddon, using Pip's chart, above. Use the following guidelines for capturing image trinkets, please:

  • .png only - other formats result in lost image quality
  • If the item is equipped in your inventory, please unequip it before taking the screenshot. The equipped item box has a different (lighter) background than the equipped item box. Trade window and trinket case screenshots are OK.

Thanks! --AtteSmythe 12:49, 1 November 2006 (PST)

Also, I suppose, some note as to what colors are on which ocean would be super...Pip... :p --AtteSmythe 13:19, 1 November 2006 (PST)

In order, those were:

Viridian Sage Hunter Cobalt Midnight

Or you can just check them at 2006 Halloween events#Prizes

Thanks, but I think the crosschecking would've slowed me down - I just logged in all the oceans to grab screenies with all the prizes nicely in order and aligned. This template has been adjusted to use the new chart, and it works great. I'm going to make sure it didn't break anyone's page, then we just need to build the old ones. --AtteSmythe 13:45, 1 November 2006 (PST)
