Reversed short sword

I may have got this wrong, but wouldn't reversing the short sword give exactly the same pattern? It's symmetrical. --Angelbeaver ^(talk) 09:15, 28 January 2007 (PST)

I don't really get what the whole 'reversed' thing is about (never have since reading it ages ago) - but it'd be the same just different colours. --Sagacious ^(talk) 10:10, 28 January 2007 (PST)

It's quite possible I'm mistaken, but I was always under the impression it was just the pattern flipped horizontally around it's centre. The colours for each part are determined by the hilt and guard colous ie red/red gives the patterns shown but, for example, changing the handle colour to green would make all the yellow pieces become green, the greens blue and the blues red, etc etc.

When the pattern is symmetrical, wouldn't reversing it only change the colours, not the shape of the pattern. If so, then it cannot be made weaker by being reversed. I hope that made sense :S. --Angelbeaver ^(talk) 10:37, 28 January 2007 (PST)

They are not symmetrical, here is evidence [1] As for reversed being weaker, it has something to do with column 5 and the fact that pieces drop in 4. Could someone fill me in on that? --Protoplm
