Rooms
I don't think hallways should count as rooms. Yakuza 06:33, 14 August 2005 (PDT)
- Think of it as number of "scenes" then. Also that's an awfully big hallway. A player could spent a lot of time and money decorating just that one area. --Barrister 06:39, 14 August 2005 (PDT)
Then call them scenes, not rooms. Yakuza 06:56, 14 August 2005 (PDT)
- Could be a good point. Other houses, for instance, the bungalow, have outdoor areas that aren't techincally rooms, but are still worth counting.--Mercano 10:44, 14 August 2005 (PDT)
- Maybe we need tents as furniture for outdoors?--Faulkston 19:16, 16 August 2005 (PDT)
The Estate on Luthien should be completed within the next 2 hours, if someone is willing to take screenies and count paint. --Markozeta 21:03, 15 August 2005 (PDT)
Underfoot has claimed the first Midnight estate on Luthien. --Piplicus 00:08, 16th August 2005 PDT
Raw data
Markozeta has the images for the left-facing estate. He'll be following up on this soon. I've got the paint numbers for it, too. --Barrister 01:46, 16 August 2005 (PDT)
Uploading finished. Beginning transition now. --Markozeta 09:56, 17 August 2005 (PDT)
Might I add that your images are done pretty sloppily? -Paladin
- Just as with wiki articles, you are welcome to update things with better versions. --Guppymomma 14:24, 16 August 2005 (PDT)
- ...once replacing images works. :P --AtteSmythe 19:05, 16 August 2005 (PDT), realizing you can upload a new file and mark for deletion
The garden is hideous, I'll admit, but I'm pleased with the rest. Not to mention I a.) am willing to give you my screenshots to do them how you want and b.) only have MS paint at my disposal. --Markozeta 21:42, 16 August 2005 (PDT)
The Images That Ate New York
Sooo...these are pretty giant. I'd like to ask that when the whateverpx sized ones are put on the page that a note on the filesize of the full version be put in as a caption so folks know what they're downloading when they click on 'em. --Guppymomma 14:22, 16 August 2005 (PDT)
- I figured the large ones would be best while we're still in house mania time. --Markozeta 21:38, 16 August 2005 (PDT)
Exterior
I extracted the [[Media:[Estate Exterior.png|estate exterior]]] from the distribution. Questions:
- For the intro to articles on housing, would it be better to show the outside of the building, rather than repeat the entry scene?
- Would this be more useful split into left and right versions?
- Should someone more knowledgable than I am do the primary/secondary/tertiary (yellow as 3rd color?) substitutions so that this file looks more like it does in-game?
--AtteSmythe 13:32, 18 August 2005 (PDT)
- Finally got the scene editor working. I'd love to know how they do the color substitution, because it really seems like magic to me. In any case, I can use this to take left and right exteriors with some basic (non-brown) color, strip away the background, and upload left/right versions. --AtteSmythe
- It might be similar to how gd does it where the colors are defined in the little color map doohickey and changing an individual one in the map changes it on the picture for all the ones using that color. I'll see if I can change the file to look like in game. --Guppymomma 14:34, 18 August 2005 (PDT)
- I suppose I didn't figure that it might just be palette substitution instead of something more procedural. That'd make sense, I suppose. In any case, changing the editor default tile background to black and assigning a color (I like paint_p blue, paint_s yellow for good contrast and decent look) works nicely. --AtteSmythe
- Does this mean I don't need to try and see if I can fix the colors on your image? :) --Guppymomma 14:40, 18 August 2005 (PDT)
- Correct. I'll reupload left- and right- versions later. For all the shoppes too, most likely. Or maybe just the lefts for the infoboxes. Hmm... --AtteSmythe

Left-facing estate
Epsilon has a left-facing estate now. I haven't been inside yet. --Barrister 22:59, 18 August 2005 (PDT)
- Right-facing, you mean. I was unable to find the catacombs in it, though I may have missed the logs exactly... --AtteSmythe
Format
I think I've figured out what's been bugging me about the format of this house page, compared to the others: instead of it being a block-type setup, it's all spread out (see other house pages to see what I mean). Suppose there's any way of normalizing all the pages, so they look the same? (Namely, Estate to the block-style format). --KingOfZeal 06:07, 13 December 2006 (PST)
- Check with User:Sagacious. I think he has it done, but hadn't finalized it or something. --Guppymomma 08:16, 13 December 2006 (PST)
- Avast! An unfinished project! It's on my 'stuff to finish doing' list :-) --Sagacious (talk) 22:45, 15 December 2006 (PST)
