10 ocean limit

Looked at adding the Emerald Ocean so it to would link to her gallery. Not sure if the ocean listing is limited to 10, as if I replace Crimson, it works. However, adding an 11th seems to not show.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Lowstandrd (talkcontribs) 17:08, 17 March 2013

There is currently a limit of 10 oceans in the infobox. It could be increased somewhat easily. The question is whether we want to include all legacy closed oceans in her infobox too... Chupchup 18:17, 17 March 2013 (PDT)
Don't the old ocean links merely correspond to the ocean they merged into? --Thunderbird 18:41, 17 March 2013 (PDT)
Just double-checked that. The Hunter and Sage links are pointing to the same page. --Thunderbird 18:42, 17 March 2013 (PDT)
Yes, that means that we can safely excise all the oceans that have been merged without losing anything of importance. I was about to do just that, and then I realized that this same situation exists on every single Ocean Master page. So we should establish consensus that this is a good idea and then implement it everywhere at once. Chupchup 21:28, 17 March 2013 (PDT)
Just to be clear, this change is only intended for OM and Ringer pages? How do you want to handle the suffixed pirates, historical note perhaps? --Clotho 22:05, 17 March 2013 (PDT)
For now we could apply it to OMs and Ringers since all of their pages are obviously affected by this. But we could extend it to other personal pirate pages as the need arose. For suffixed names, which I assume you mean Clotho-West and Clotho-East, that is easy. The {{infobox pirate}} (Usage) template allows for multiple pirate galleries for up to 6 alts (1 main + 5). Each alt gallery can contain up to ten oceans. The problem only arises when the same pirate name is used on all eleven. Chupchup 20:53, 18 March 2013 (PDT)
OM/Ringers are easy to fix, since it's clear we own the name on all 11 oceans. Pirate pages can be a little more challenging in a few cases. Thanks for fixing this! --Clotho 21:23, 18 March 2013 (PDT)
In my opinion, the easiest thing to do is to fix the template so that it handles 11 oceans. That will probably tide us over for the foreseeable future. Chupchup 12:15, 19 March 2013 (PDT)
