The New Romantics aka Alliance of Freelancers is a crew on the Emerald Ocean, formerly of the Sage Ocean. On September 7, 2009 it merged with Dominators of Sage, and was re-formed in June 2013.
History
Tichnay founded the crew under the name The New Romantics just before Christmas 2008. He set about finding able crew members, and found Sovietstar, Markic and Tropicana to lead the crew. They settled in the flag Black Knights and formed a friendship with Duelmaster of Black Sage Explorers which led to the assimilation of Basset island into the flag. Sadly, Black Knights only held Basset for a short while, before a mysterious hacker managed to take control. Cugix bought the crew from Tichnay on January 16 2009, after the crew was hacked. Hoping to make it into a big wealthy crew, Cugix set about renovating a battered crew. They joined the flag of Dominant Storm hoping to add something to the flag and crew. The influx of cash into Tichnay's coffers allowed him to renew his love for the game and he soon bought back his ships, swords and items.
The crew is flourishing, it is no. 4 in the flag and will soon gain eminent fame.
Tichnay is set to marry Tookl.
On April 7, 2009 the crew was renamed to Seasick Pirates
In June 2009 the crew was renamed again to Alliance of Freelancers to replace the AoF branch which dusted after the crew "returned" to Furious Renegades.
In June 2013, Tichnay rejuvenated the crew, under the original name of The New Romantics and now sails for the flag When The Stars Align.

A lovely poem written by our old First Mate, Tookl: Some time ago, when none of you would know. A crew was made, by a man who has long played. It grew and grew, faster then he knew. The New Romantics have travelled the seas, fought for many rights, from the Assasins to the Knights, serving all their needs, at one point owning Basset, its only asset. Attacked by a paracite, that with all Tichnay's might, could not be destroyed, no matter how much it annoyed. Even after being warned, Tichnay was still to be mourned, from his ashes crews were formed, but none could compare, to the decorations that The New Romanitcs were adorned. Now, the crew has come to rest. Tichnay settles in his new nest, Tichnay, reborn, looks on, His once fine crew had nearly been gone, Broken, Crippled, Nearly buried. But now, they shall rise to new heights, With new faces fueling the lights. ~~By Tookl

About us
Crew colours: White, Persimmon, Navy Blue. Good luck lads and ladies, you know what to do ;). Just have a pilly or two, feel free to use any of the ships, just have a nice time :). The general ethos of the crew is to get everyone in a place that they are comfortable, you can do what you like here (Within reason :) ). If you want to be higher up in the crew, get some puzzling done, and it shouldn't be long :). Feel free to ask Tichnay anything, promotions, money for stock etc. No Begging tho, as you won't get anything ;).
General run down of ranks:
Pirate - While you learn the game, we want to get you to officer ASAP :).
Officer - Reasonable knowledge of the game, and a bit of bold writing on your pirate page.
Fleet Officer - A good spot of Bnav experience, good experience on all the key puzzles, drive to be a leader.
Senior Officer - Run alot of pillys/SMHs, recruit, must have a real understanding of the crew ethos.
