Dhow - blockade use

I'd like to reiterate my objection to any evaluation here of the Dhow's blockade uses. Dhows have been used quite effectively in blockades which lacked War brigs and War frigates, due to low jobber numbers. I first wrote in Talk:Dhow: I disagree with the negative assessment of blockade use in this section. However, I don't think this article is the place for either side of the issue; I had assumed these pages are a reference for hard facts and statistics only. Perhaps it would better fit in a blockade admiraling strategy guide. --Chupchup 10:16, 5 April 2008 (PDT)

While I see the validity of your objection, the selected article is essentially a summary of the main article, in this instance, dhow. The main dhow article does indeed include a section on the effectiveness of the dhow in blockades. In fact, I copied some of it word for word. The main article also includes facts and statistical values (i.e. cannon numbers and damage percentages) so there is no lack of validity to their statements. I agree that perhaps a subnote in the paragraph stating their usage in low-jobber number situations might well be warranted but as it stands, both the article and the summation are factually accurate in their assessments of it's blockade usage, at least as far as the numbers go. -- Muffynz^(t/c) 20:00, 5 April 2008 (PDT)

Xebec

On the plus side for the Xebec, it provides a continuum in spawns between the Merchant galleon and the War frigate. This is important for pillage leaders on a Baghlah, for instance, where a difference of one pirate aboard used to mean the difference between MG and WF. For a spawned vessel, the important specifications are crew size, damage per turn, and hit points. --Chupchup 10:28, 5 April 2008 (PDT)
