Cabin

Blockade Use
I disagree with the negative assessment of blockade use in this section. However, I don't think this article is the place for either side of the issue; I had assumed these pages are a reference for hard facts and statistics only. Perhaps it would better fit in a blockade admiraling strategy guide. --Chupchup 21:06, 15 September 2007 (PDT)
- I reworded some of the language describing it's use on the blockade board to sound a little more...formal and impartial. I also noted your comment about it being used in low jobber turnout blockades instead of brigs and frigates. - I honestly don't see the reason for an exhaustive list of blockade strategies for this or any ship, particularly when this article's section appears to directly contradict the sloop article and the longship article is simply full of nonsense that hasn't been reverted yet. All three examples are There are already three articles where these would fit well, Admiraling a blockade, Blockade coordination, and Blockade tricks. I find it particularly odd that the articles on War brig and War frigate have absolutely no information on blockade use. Shall we take this precedent and run with it, adding sections to Merchant brig and Merchant galleon about how horribly they fare in blockades and should not be used? How about a note in Grand frigate about the infamous Grand Frigate gambit? To reiterate: Was I wrong in assuming that these pages are for facts and statistics about vessels? Blockade usability is not something that can be pinned down as fact, since it varies based on the individual situation, and is always up to an admiral's discretion. --Chupchup 11:54, 8 April 2008 (PDT)
