Ocean Envy was a crew that sailed the Viridian Ocean, then the Meridian Ocean. The crew used to fly the flag of Antheas. Ocean Envy accepted everyone, as long as they have a good attitude. Ocean Envy merged into Taking Flight in November of 2013.
History
Ocean Envy was founded by Carboman, Fire, Elliefantine, Sortdragon, Girllover, Anhtc, Shopot, Angelinee, Wrongleg and others. The first captain was Carboman, and his First Mate was Fire. They sailed under the flag Waves of Envy. Many of the first crew came from the crew Carpe Diem, in Antheas, and left to create Ocean Envy and Waves of Envy.
Over time, Fire became inactive, and Carboman busier in his job. Girllover graciously agreed to become captain of the crew. She worked tirelessly to grow the crew, and added some of the members who are the key to the success of the crew today. Bloodyjamie was asked by Girllover to take the role of captain when she felt it was time for her to concentrate on other issues. Bloodyjamie continued in the tradition first set by Carboman and Fire, until she needed to take time away from piracy. The crew was then run by the senior officers, and for a brief while during this time, Merra was captain.
Eventually, Zandroth agreed to take the captaincy, and lead the crew in piratey exploits until real life circumstances meant that she was not online at the same time as the rest of the crew. At this point, Sparch took up the mantle of captaincy, and held it until it was decided that he did not have the time to devote to running the crew, and he gave the position back to Zandroth. More recently, the captaincy was handed to Cheezeball, who holds it currently.
Our crew is our family, and every member is equally important.
Ocean Envy, along with Guardians of Friendship, was a founding crew of the flag Elysian Fields. Ocean Envy left that flag in January 2009 and were independent until April 2009, when they joined the flag Antheas.
Public statement
We are curently looking for pirates to join our crew. We want to pillage a lot, make merchant runs, and participate in flag activities. Anyone is welcome, so just ask an Officer to sign you up!

How to get promoted? Everyone gets to be a pirate when they join! However, you will not be promoted to any higher position based on your stats alone, so do not expect to join up and become a senior officer right away. Stats are a way to tell that you can puzzle, but you must also have the trust of the senior officers and captain before you can gain any rank above pirate.
CABIN PERSON- Punishment! And, occasionally, alts.
PIRATE- Automatic when you join the crew but if you are disrespectful to the crew or if you abuse your rights as a pirate you could get a demotion.
OFFICER IN TRAINING- To become an Officer In Training you need broad/master in carp, bilge and sails as well as broad/distinguished in gunning and navigation. While an Officer In Training you will have the rank of officer and title of midshipman. You will only be able to pillage with the navy unless there is a senior officer or fleet officer able and willing take you out on a pillage. Do not attack any player vessels unless told to by a SO or the captain. If they attack you, fight hard and do your best. Once the SOs and captain deem that you will be a good officer, you will take an officer test (disguised as a pillage), and upon passing, you will have your title changed and be a full officer.
OFFICER- To be an officer, decent stats are needed, as well as a level of trust by the SOs and captain. An officer should be willing to jump on any duty station on a ship if needed. Being an officer is all about respect--respect for our flag, crew, and jobbers. Being kind to someone will get you further in the game than amazing stats and a bad attitude. Stats go up and down all the time.
FLEET OFFICER and SENIOR OFFICER will be promoted as the SOs and captain see fit, and will be expected to lead or support crew and flag activities when possible.
CREW RESPECT- Harrassment, name calling, and any other kind of bullying with the intent to hurt another player's feelings or make their game experience less enjoyable is not allowed, and will be dealt with by crew officials. If someone tells you to stop, do so.
