Downloadable content, or DLC, consists of content packages for Puzzle Pirates: Dark Seas available for purchase through the Steam client.
Once purchased, the exclusive items they contain can be claimed by a pirate on the Obsidian Ocean. The items include permanent and regular badges, ships with faction themes, an exclusive sword and hat, pets, rogue marks and chromas.
DLC was first made available on September 14, 2017 with the Early Access release of Dark Seas on Steam. Each pack can be claimed by one pirate per purchase, and can be purchased multiple times.

Eminent Explorer pack
The Eminent Explorer pack is priced at $49.99 USD and contains the following:
- Permanent officer badge.
- Permanent labor badge.
- 30 day wrapped parlor badge.
- A black savvy crossbones hat. This black hat is exclusive to this DLC, and will never dust. The bandana color will be selected at random from among gold, red, maroon, white, or blue.
- A corsair blade. This sword is exclusive to this DLC, and will never dust.
- 18 rogue marks.
- 1 large whisking potion.
- 3 chart boxes.
- 3 weight loss concoctions.
The permanent badges, savvy hat, and corsair blade cannot be traded with other players. Permanent badges will apply a discount when purchasing a deluxe labor, senior officer or captain's badge.
Defiant Armada pack
Themed for the Defiant Armada faction, the Defiant Armada pack is priced at $19.99 USD and contains the following:
- A crimson savvy crossbones hat. This crimson-colored hat is exclusive to this DLC, and will never dust. The bandana color will be chosen at random from among gold, yellow, or white.
- A Defiant class sloop
- 4 crimson chromas.
- Crimson colored rat pet.
The savvy hat and rat cannot be traded with other players.
Shadow Fleet pack
Themed for the Shadow Fleet faction, the Shadow Fleet pack is priced at $19.99 USD and contains the following:
- A shadow savvy crossbones hat. This shadow-colored hat is exclusive to this DLC, and will never dust. The bandana color will be chosen at random from among black, grey, or purple.
- A Shadow class sloop
- 4 shadow chromas.
- Shadow colored rat pet.
The savvy hat and rat cannot be traded with other players.
Shadow Raider pack
The Shadow Raider pack was added with the full release of Dark Seas on July 6, 2018. It is priced at $39.99 USD and contains the following:
- A Shadow class war galleon
- A shovel bludgeon. This bludgeon is exclusive to this DLC and will never dust.
- A rogue hat. This black hat is exclusive to this DLC and will never dust. The bandana color will be selected at random from among gold, red, maroon, white, or blue.
- A black vampire raiment. The secondary color will match the color of the bandana on the rogue hat. Unlike the rogue hat, the vampire raiment decays normally.
- A wrapped parlor badge
- 10 rogue marks
- 3 shadow chromas
- 3 crimson chromas
- A sanguine amulet
The rogue hat and shovel bludgeon cannot be traded with other players.
