Auction House

The Auction House allows pirates to anonymously buy and sell items at fixed prices. Sales can be made between any pirates on the ocean, regardless of whether they are currently online. Names stay private, as listings and sales don't show who the seller or buyer is.
Posting an offer at the Auction House requires an available slot. Slots cost 5 doubloons (5,000 PoE on the Cerulean Ocean), last 365 days, and are reused as offers finish. Browsing, buying and filling other pirates' offers does not require a slot.
Sales made through the Auction House will appear in a pirate's Ahoy! panel, with the price, the fee, and what was received - even if the pirate was offline when the sale took place.
Most items can be bought and sold at an Auction House. However, the following items cannot be sold:
- Building deeds
- Wrapped gifts
- Anything a pirate is currently wearing or using
- Items that age every day (such as wayfinders, compasses and expedition maps)
Deeds and portraits can be sold, but cannot be asked for in buy offers.
A pirate can list a ship that is in port with an empty hold. Other pirates' furniture, pets and wrapped gifts that have been placed on the ship will be returned to their owners first, and the seller decides whether or not their own furniture will be sold with the ship. The listing names the furniture included, and buyers can click on the "Visit" button to be whisked to the ship so that they can look around. A ship that is listed at the Auction House cannot set sail.
Using the Auction House

The Auction House interface can be accessed by clicking on the Auction House board, which can currently be found at the palaces on the following islands:
- Cerulean Ocean: Alpha Island and Dragon's Nest
- Meridian Ocean: Dragon's Nest and Saltstraum Rock
- Emerald Ocean: Admiral Island, Greenwich Island and Quetzal Island
At the top of the Auction House interface, a pirate can see the number of slots they have free, and the number of open offers they currently have. There is also a button to buy a slot (for a cost of 5 doubloons on doubloon oceans, or 5,000 PoE on the Cerulean Ocean), and a "Refresh" button.
Below this, the interface includes several tabs: Front Page, Browse, Sell, Buy Offers, My Offers, and History. These are discussed in more detail in the sections below. If a pirate does not have an available slot, the "Sell" and "Buy Offers" tabs will be greyed out. Greenies can browse, but can't trade or buy slots until they are no longer greenies.
The Front Page tab
The "Front Page" tab includes the following basic instructions: "Sell an item or post a buy offer, and any pirate on the ocean can take you up on it. Offers need a slot and last 30 days. The house keeps 2% of each sale (at least 100 poe)."
Below this, a pirate can peruse a list of "Promoted offers". These are offers from sellers who chose to promote their item for 7 days for a fee of 500 PoE when listing an item for sale via the "Sell" tab. Promoted offers rotate on the front page, and are limited to one per account at a time.
The "Front Page" tab also includes a list of "New and notable sales".
The Browse tab

The "Browse" tab allows a pirate to search all of the items that are wanted or listed for sale. Items can be filtered by category (such as furniture, pets, or trinkets), color, and whether the item is for sale or wanted. Search results can be sorted by price (dearest/most expensive or cheapest/least expensive first) or by time (newest or soonest to expire first).
Previous searches can be selected using the "Recent searches" button.
Clicking the "Buy now" button on a search result pays the asking price on the spot; there is no timed bidding.
The Sell tab

The "Sell" tab will be greyed out if you do not have an available slot.
This tab allows you to post items for sale. Any pirate on the ocean can take you up on your offer. Offers need an available slot and last for 30 days. The house keeps 2% of each sale (at least 100 PoE).
To sell, drag an item from yer Booty panel into the slot in the "Sell" tab (or Shift-click it), and set your price. Stacks are priced per piece, and potions per swig. The suggested price is based on recent sales of items of the same type.
Use the "Clear selection" button if you need to clear your selection.
If you would like your item to appear on the "Promoted offers" list on the "Front page" tab of the Auction House, you may tick the "Promote on the front page (500 poe)" box. Promoted offers last 7 days and rotate on the front page, with a limit of one per account at a time.
Click the "Post sell offer" button to finalize your offer.
There is no listing fee for posting a sell offer via the Auction House (although, you do need to have an available slot). When an item sells, the house will keep 2% of the price (at least 100 PoE) from the seller's proceeds. The confirmation shows exactly what you will take home. Offers last for 30 days. You may renew or withdraw offers from the "My Offers" tab, or correct a price within 10 minutes of posting. When an offer expires, its item or PoE comes back to ye automatically, even if you are offline.
A new sell offer is filled automatically by the best buy offer at or above its price, even if the other pirate is offline. When listing an item to sell, a list of offers from "Pirates who want this item" may appear at the bottom of the "Sell" tab (if anyone has posted a "Buy offer" for the item). These offers include the price the pirate is willing to pay, and a button to click to "Sell to this offer". Sales will appear in a pirate's Ahoy! panel, with the price, the fee and what was received (even if the pirate was offline when the sale took place).
Listed items are safe. They wait in a new "Auctioned" section of your Booty panel and don't age while listed. As with a rack, listing costs a day of wear unless the item comes back the same day; clothing and familiars don't age at all.
The Buy Offers tab

The "Buy Offers" tab will be greyed out if you do not have an available slot.
If you can't find what you want listed by sellers, you can post a buy offer for the item using the "Buy Offers" tab. Any pirate on the ocean can take you up on your offer. Offers require a slot, and will last for 30 days.
In order to post a buy offer, you will first need to locate the desired item in the list. (Choose the kind of item ye want, or type part of its name to find it). Once you have selected the item from the list, choose your requested colors from the drop down menus to the right (or choose "Any color"), and enter the amount of PoE you are willing to pay for the item. Any condition, stack size or inscription will do.
The house holds yer PoE until the offer is filled, withdrawn or expires. (When an offer expires, its PoE is returned to you automatically, even if you are offline). If a match is already for sale at yer price or less, you will buy it automatically. A new sell offer is filled at once by the best buy offer at or above its price, and a new buy offer by the cheapest matching item at or below its price, even if the other pirate is offline. Sales will appear in your Ahoy! panel, with the price, the fee and what was received.
Click the "Post buy offer" button to finalize your buy offer. You may renew or withdraw offers from the "My Offers" tab, or correct a price within 10 minutes of posting.
The My Offers tab
The "My Offers" tab lists:
- Yer slots - including how many slots you have, how many of them are available, how many are in use, and when these slots will expire.
- Yer open offers - any open offers you have, including the offer type, the item, its requested colors, how long is left until the offer expires, and the price. Open offers include three buttons:
- "Change price" - prices can be corrected only in the first 10 minutes after posting. Enter the new price into the box that comes up to change it.
- "Renew" - will renew the listing for another listing period (a dialogue box will confirm).
- "Withdraw" - brings up a confirmation dialogue box. The slot cools down for a few (about 5) minutes after an offer is withdrawn.
The History tab
The "History" tab lists a pirate's closed offers and the offers they have taken up in the past 30 days, in order of newest first. Prices listed are the offer prices; a filled buy offer may have cost less.
Historical notes
- The Auction House was introduced with release 2026-10-08. However, it had to be disabled on all oceans shortly after its initial release when an issue was found with items that stack. The Auction House was re-enabled with release 2026-10-08, after a patch to ensure that it would no longer eat entire stacks of items [1].
