The short sword is one of the seventeen sword types available to players in the game. It is produced at iron mongers. On subscription oceans, the short sword may be used by non-subscribers.

While at first glance the shortsword's drop pattern looks close to that of a foil, it packs quite a punch. Specifically its bottom layer enables it to have strong sprinkles and decent strikes overall.

Even though the short sword will never be the best in any category, the short sword is probably the best all-around midtier sword for the pirate who needs to conserve PoE.

The reversed short sword is considered to be weaker than the normal short sword.
