The short sword is one of the fifteen sword types in the game. It is produced at iron mongers. On subscription oceans, the short sword may be used by non-subscribers.
A similar attack pattern to the foil, but can give a nasty sprinkle. Can be very deadly when in the right hands.
The short sword has decent sprinkles, decent strikes, a low price, the ability to be used by non-subscribers (on subscription oceans) and a low doubloon cost (on doubloon oceans). While the short sword will never be the best in any category (there are better strike swords, better sprinkle swords, and cheaper swords), the short sword is probably the best all-around sword for the pirate who needs to conserve PoE.
The reversed short sword (first sword color is green, blue or purple) is considered to be much weaker than the normal short sword.
