The Sanguine Blade is a type of sword in the game. It is the weapon of choice for vampirates in vampirate frays. Unlike most swords, the Sanguine Blade is not available to players.

The unique property of the sanguine blade is a special coffin piece that does not have a corresponding breaker. Instead, pirates need to clear coffin pieces by breaking combos next to them.

While the coffin pieces and especially the sprinkles are a major strength, the sanguine blade also shares the same weaknesses as a Poniard - its strikes are weak and the middle columns can always be broken with a single breaker.

Therefore when playing against vampirates it is very important to be able to combo the middle as often as possible. Efficient clears will break a lot of coffin pieces at once and can free up the entire board. However, even miniscule doubles meet the requirement of breaking coffin pieces so its always advised to look for small combos whenever possible.
