Propdels (etc.)
Ahoy! As you tag some of these pirate pages for deletion, you may find the Basic pirate template useful. Although its primary purpose is to make mass creation of basic pirate pages much easier, there are several other things I have found it useful for. For instance, if you just want to get a link to the right Yoweb place, all you need is {{Basic pirate|ocean=<ocean>}}. Once you follow that link, you can replace the ocean name in the URL with all the other oceans until you find what you are looking for. Of course, if there are pirates with the same name on multiple oceans, you have to make a choice on an individual basis. Because this does not seem too difficult to me, I find you saying that I am not about to look it up manually frankly disturbing. Have a good day :) -- Thefirstdude (t/c) 10:55, 18 March 2007 (PDT)
- Point taken. I wasn't aware of that template since I haven't been really active in here in a couple of months. Although it is my personal opinion that pirate pages that only need a basic pirate template should not exist in the first place, I will follow yer suggestion and give those articles a +cleanupfor instead of a +delete or +propdel.--Arminius 11:04, 18 March 2007 (PDT)
- My point was not about that template, it was that looking up what ocean a pirate is from is not very difficult. Just this is a certain easy way to do it. Also, if you know exactly what needs to be done in order to clean up an article, are capable of doing it, and have the time, why not do it, instead of tagging it for cleanup?
- As for "pages that only need a basic pirate template should not exist," there are several points where this may be useful. If a pirate article needs to be cleaned up, I often find it easier to use the BPT (with a Subst:) and then to re-add the other information afterwards. Also, if you are making a page for someone with limited wiki technical knowledge, creating a page with the BPT for them to add stuff to I have found to be good as well. I'm not trying to push my template on you, just to be helpful. I understand that without facial expression and vocal intonation it is easy to take things wrongly :) -- Thefirstdude (t/c) 11:11, 18 March 2007 (PDT)
Treasure Hunters Guild/Mission Board Archive
I think that is what Treasure Hunters Guild/Treasury Log is for.--Fiddler 20:32, 15 May 2007 (PDT)
- And that is what happens when I don't watch all the pages in the event! Blast! --Arminius 20:34, 15 May 2007 (PDT)
