Portrait clothing
When commissioning a portrait, the portrait clothing will reflect the pirate's currently-equipped clothing. A pirate's torso clothing may also affect the portrait pose.
The following images list the colors used to create the clothing. Note that some clothing items have a required secondary or tertiary color (usually white). The images below are meant to highlight the specific article of clothing shown. Some clothing, however, may be obscured or outright hidden by other clothing when worn together. For example, the gown always completely hides a woman's feet.
Not all clothing items are available year-round. The funny glasses and Santa hats, for example, are only available near April Fool's Day and Christmas, respectively.

Historical notes
When the female wig was introduced, its ribbon was not shown in portraits because it was missing. This was changed in release 2006-08-10.
In release 2007-06-14, the underlying hair was removed from portraits with wigs and diving helmets so it would not stick out from underneath in portraits made after the release.
