atteSmythe (talk • contribs) – When I poked him about it, he said he'd accept, so as they say, pressure++ --Emufarmers 08:43, 8 July 2006 (PDT)

Support

  1. Support. AtteSmythe's work on all manner of things has been helpful. He voices his opinion in a level-headed logical manner while still keeping an open ear to listening to other sides; and he goes along with the decisions made by community consensus even if his opinion differed. His method of helping folks to figure out what to add to pirate articles by asking questions has been nicely encouraging and the cleanup project has been a wonderful rallying of the community. --Guppymomma 19:04, 9 July 2006 (PDT)
  2. Support. AtteSmythe is a mature and knowledgable player with great experience from his time as admin of the Game Design forum.--Fiddler 19:40, 10 July 2006 (PDT)
  3. Support. AtteSmythe has made significant, high-quality contributions. His maturity and judgment makes him a great choice for adminship. --Barrister 13:54, 11 July 2006 (PDT)
  4. Support. Great technical ability, diplomatic skills. Good knowledge of social context, excellent content generation, overall a fantastic ambassador for the YPPedia. --Featherfin 10:01, 12 July 2006 (PDT)

Questions for the candidate
A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:

1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? (Please read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.)
A. This is a difficult one, because 99% of what needs to be done to keep a wiki running can be done by anyone, and the other 1% aren't really enviable duties. Still, administratorship would allow me to help share the load of deletion requests and recentchanges rollback, as well as by letting me take care of trivial maintenance (especially to my User: subpages) without adding to the admin load. To answer the question directly, there's no task on the list which I'm unwilling to tackle, though I'd have to start following the arbitration/administration rulings for a while before I felt comfortable with that side of the affair.
2. Of your articles or contributions to YPPedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
A. Most recently, the push for pirate page editing and completion. In the near future, the Cleanup Crew is my baby, and I'd still like to make it something that enacts real changes on at least a weekly rotation. In the distant past, I'm probably most proud of my work in extracting and archiving images for the island pages. I most enjoy the template work I've done, perhaps because it's most like coding, and the changes are both immediate and potentially widespread.
