Our fame bumped up and down between the required level and one less within and after the blockade (don't remember about the level before dropping the chest was not possible)... I do remember that we were close to the needed level 2-3 weeks before the blockade and constantly pillaging to collect the needed fame for dropping the chest. So we had the required fame while still in the blockade (think around end of round 2) but it dropped again the next day(s). -- Karlimero 11:05, 18 May 2006 (PDT)

Aha, handy. I went log diving too, and here's what I came up with. So far, I'm unable to find the discussion about the OM's promising that we'd be able to blockade no matter what (Unsure if it was Sho who spoke with them or what, but I'll keep looking).

Some more items for thought:

1. Ocean Explorers and Starfleet joined the flag temporarily in the week before the blockade to help with the fame issue.
2. The idea of TLB dropping was tossed around before, but OM #1 confirmed it as a possiblity for us a few hours before the blockade. Parliament spoke with OM #2 at :45 prior to the blockade, and was told that the TLB thing was ok but they wouldn't allow the island to be transferred. (Later, Artemis said it'd be ok, then when she had a closer look she upheld the second OM's decision). TLB didn't drop the chest until :20 prior to the blockade - they had issues getting in touch with their monarch (Tealbeard) so in the end Korr dropped the chest. I have this stuff in logs, but because most of it's tells people were passing to /cr, best not to repost here I think. Besides, I'd have to censor Phade. *grin*
3. This is just for amusement value: [13:46:17] Aapothecary tells you, "This is Aapo from Light Brigade reporting for the blockade."
